what happened after the Apollo program with #publicEducation makes absolutely no sense whatsoever if you are to believe USA fought #fascism during WW2 and won. why kill #homeEconomics #domesticArts #arts #crafts programs, if those are the skills that gave you the Computers whose skills were instrumental in building the computers, the rockets, the clothing, everything that got men into space?!?!?!? because it wasn't just women who did that but Black Women, Native Women, Latinas…

Okay, after a week of lurking and somewhat soft-launching myself into the sunny.garden, I guess it's time for a proper #introduction to you wonderful people. Im Dave, I live in Germany, and like so many others these past days I came here from the forkiverse. I already appreciate the vibe here in the garden very much. I'm, among others, into #movies and #books, truly everything #arts and #culture, and would like some recommendations about who or what to follow. I love to see you all sharing about your projects of arts and crafts. You can expect some #photography in my feed, but apart from that I probably won't post very regularly. That is, if you don't count in replies. I do reply quite a lot and love to exchange thoughts and knowledge. Looking forward to still getting to know this place a little better every time I'm on. Have a great day, y'all!

From the Fields to Hollywood: Luis Valdez on Chicano Storytelling - Latino USA

Before 86-year-old Luis Valdez directed the play Zoot Suit and the film La Bamba, he was staging theater in the back of a flatbed truck in the fields of California for farmworkers  on strike. Now, he’s the subject of a new documentary: “American Pachuco: The Legend of Luis Valdez.”  On this episode, host Maria Hinoj
