The view along one of Scotland's loneliest "A" roads. The A846 runs up part of the east side of the wonderful island of Jura, the wildest and emptiest of all of Scotland's inhabited islands. Beautiful Castle Stalker, seen from the road to Port Appin in Argyll, with the mountains of Morvern in the background. The castle was built on its own very small islet in Loch Laich in about 1495 by Duncan Stewart of Appin. #introductions Hi there! My first toot as I learn the ways of Mastodon. I run a bed and breakfast on the west coast of Scotland in Oban, Argyll (lucky me). When not busy with the B&B interests include photography, mainly landscapes with alt digitial/analogue hybrid processes such as cyanotype. Time permitting I also dabble with woodworking and a bit of sewing now and then. Break times usually involve coffee, a sudoku and listening to vinyl. #Argyll #photographer #cyanotype #taphophile

If you know this as "Castle Aaaaargh" then you'll be a Monty Python fan, otherwise it's usually known simply as Castle Stalker. It is a 14th-century Scottish tower house situated on a tidal islet on Loch Laich, just a wee way up the road from us here at Four Oaks. Tours of the castle usually book up quickly but we were lucky enough to get a last minute cancellation. #CastleStalker #castle #towerhouse #LochLaich #Argyll #Scotland #montypython #montypythonholygrail
