@MLE_online@social.afront.org @futurebird@sauropods.win this is why I push back on the “AI” framing and anthropomorphized language around it thinking/hallucinating/whatever.
I’m not trying to win a logical argument that it’s not actually artificial intelligence, I’m trying to claw back space marketing has tricked people into thinking how functional and miraculous this is.
Friday, I play Bowie and Prince songs in San Francisco. You dance or absorb the moment in contemplation. Tickets have been selling, I think this will be a good show.
I hope a big Mastodon group goes and can talk about the best Linux distribution between the two sets.
In one week, come find me at Rickshaw Stop for a free sticker! Oh also I’ll be playing Bowie and Prince songs, stay for the show. Purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka.

The person who cuts my hair—who’s marginalized and targeted by fascists—mentioned he should look something up on “Claude.”
I sighed but there wasn’t room to push back in the moment. Normies don’t get how these tools support oppression, often their own.
Graphic design is my passion.
Really wondering how this canvas print in a hospital came together.

@MLE_online@social.afront.org I read the comments; I’m glad they weren’t turkey-carving A/C knives.

@flargh for me this is one point towards the “we’re in a simulation” idea. (One tiny point.)
We’re capable of terrorizing Sims characters in an empty swimming pool and deleting the ladder. Is all our nonsense from some bored kid playing with our reality?

@flargh@mastodon.social as I was scrolling up and saw the butthole surfers first, I thought/hoped you would be the author. Nailed it.
On April 10, I’m playing Bowie and Prince songs at Rickshaw Stop in SF. If we rock hard enough together, maybe we can heal the rift in our reality, for at least a moment.

Oh now the commentator said, “Great job for both girls.”

@scott@carfree.city places I walk in Berkeley still have automatic crosswalks. Some of the Oakland lights do too, but wtf on these others.
In about two weeks, the Bay Resistance group is having another big training event, this time in SF. I went to the Oakland one, I think their first, last year and found it an accessible way to learn, meet people, and get funneled into local groups.
If you’re wondering how to meet this moment, this is a good starting place.

“AI discovers rules of an ancient board game” is a huge part of laundering “AI” for the public. They had some algorithms try variations of known ancient rule sets on a newly discovered board design. At best they got possibilities to play, no “discovery.”
And humans created the original game; who knows if they did something novel, different than contemporaries?
Every article without this critical edge is just marketing.

Little girl in soccer stadium with bedazzled shirt that says “USA.” I thought it said “ICE” and now I can’t unsee it, I’m doing a They Live apparently.
Verge spends 45 minutes talking about all the numbers and can’t* simply connect this to: Ellisons don’t care about losing their or others’ money. Money is imaginary to them.
It’s about capturing mainstream media for themselves and the state. Why is this so hard? Verge reveals more about itself than its subjects.
*After skimming manually, I searched for “Trump” and “right” in the transcript. None of their mentions connected to anything political.

My keyboard started dying at our almost-final rehearsal for Bowie/Prince. Some of the sounds don’t work, some do.
One button kept turning itself on after an intermittent time—within a few seconds—after I turned it off. 🙄
The interface still works in general; backing it all up now before I take it apart.
Paid $69 for gas yesterday.
Saw a bus wrapped with an ad that just said, “Goop Kitchen” over a salad or vegetables or something.
I wish we didn’t have so many gullible people but also am sorry I recognized the font treatment of those two words. :/

@scott@carfree.city a short handful of months ago, Oakland switched a substantial number of pedestrian crosswalks in Rockridge/Temescal to require you to push the button to get permission to cross, even on your parallel green light. Before they just automatically activated.

@thelatestkate@mastodon.art the cover art and descriptions for these look great. I’m still unclear what would be inside, is there any other sample page?
Is it like the art you post here in full pages?
How do the journaling prompts work, like a full page with an illustration and prompt that you reflect on outside of the book?

@flargh@mastodon.social I’ve had to call a state or regional office with CA business tax questions once or twice, and they were great too. It wasn’t IRS, but maybe honor code among government tax pros?

@eniatitova@sfba.social like some boss was looking over their shoulder and said, “It’s perfect.” Or some designer just passed it off?
