And according to the article the data collection runs even if it’s disconnected. So, don’t ever connect it to the network. As soon as you do everything gets uploaded.

Everyone is saying lenovo, and while I don’t disagree, I really wish my T480 had a nicer bottom clamshell. If you want to swap a drive or ram you have to take the whole bottom off. Cue tiny plastic clips breaking. I’ve seen decent laptops with the cutouts and a single screw on the bottom for swapping ssds and ram. Those are awesome. Lenovo should do that. I say this because I like to distro hop on my laptop. I wish I could keep a drive with a linux OS that I like and have setup, but then swap out blank drives for distro hopping, play around, and go back if I want. But the bottom prevents me from doing it easily.

It's that way by design. They probably had to undo the default encryption so other programs *cough cough copilot/recall* can read the passwords.

Set up syncthing on your phone and whatever other device (laptop/pc/another phone at home/etc). Point it to your photos/videos folder and sync to your device at home(or friend's house). If your phone is confiscated and they manage to get it deleted from the cloud, you'll have a copy on your device. Make sure you enable settings like trashcan or versioning so the files deleted on your phone aren't auto deleted on the device.

Fascinating that the browser using so much RAM is the OS's fault, not the browser's. Though, it using more RAM could be considered a good thing if it sped up page loading, but apparently that's not the case with Win11.

Theoretically, you should be able to install waydroid or something similar and android tv apps. I haven’t seen it done, so I’m bot sure if everything will play nicely. I’d bebinterested in reading a writeup from someone trying though.

Then how come every one of my deliveries is cold and an hour later than the app claims it will be?

I found this one on amazon a.co/d/05wDgslY it advertises linux compatibility. So, I’d agree with you, installing shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve heard about a project called Plasma Bigscreen, might be exactly what you’re looking for. I’ve also heard flir remotes work pretty will with linux tv boxes. Those plug pcs have usb slots, you might want to figure out if you need an extension cable so the ir can reach the dongle.

I think servers in 1U config are called blades. CPU and all. Pretty sure they’re loud.
