hey happy #fairtrademusicfriday & #bandcampFriday ! no new music because i still need time to recover full arm mobility, BUT just got a funny idea: a 2-sec "album" for $1, so this way bandcamp allows the "get full discography" button to get download links for ALL albums (today even including my comedic past stuff) in a single page. i wish bandcamp allowed this without a paid release so i used minimun price. BUT remember that time to listen is the most valuable you can give regardless!

All my original solo music is sequenced MIDI with small parts played by keys, so this statement may sound ironic. But I mostly write music that people would usually expect with real and acoustic instruments, and I do the same for drums as I'd do for guitars, bass and any other instrument. So I don't discriminate! My influence comes more from 90s VGM than metal bands, and I don't pretend to souind realistic, so it's all cohessive and genuine. So just wanted to mention this common contradiction.

@kdenlive is it okay if I don't appear in the photo, or if it is my cat the one in the photo? I rather preserve my anonimity 😅 but still I love the idea.

@dgar no, and honestly I never understood what makes vinyls that special. Sure, the ritual to pick the disc and put it in the player before listening and all that, but contrary to the common belief I think it sounds worse than CD and lossless digital. So my preferred method is still to listen to digital files locally, and I have a bunch of physical CDs collecting dust in my shelves because I used them only once to rip them lol.

So this is maybe more a problem with the format than with people. I know about the hashtags, filters and all that, but honestly it's not a way to communicate I'm comfy with. Maybe I'll join some Pixelfed instance to keep sharing my photos of nature, cats, etc since that stuff seems to work surprisingly well and I enjoy what I see from others too. And then I'd use this one only to announce any new music whenever I did something, but not for social use at all.

Worth adding this is videogame music arrangements/remixes from 90s videogames (Terranigma, Actraiser, etc) but everything is so different than the original sources, these are more like original songs with stolen melodies haha. @dgar lol, so it's a frequent thing! Dgarred is pronunced the same as jarred, right? It's cool that people with so many followers boosts random small people like that, btw! If anything just a bit anxious when seeing all the sudden interactions while one is used to scream to the clouds all the time, haha 😅

@dgar I knew it! :D I once used the australian zone as release date for one of my albums as an excuse to technically have 2 different days as release date, since you australians live in the future compared to most of us haha. Btw, every time you boost some psot of mine I get a bunch of unexpected interactions all of a sudden! :O

@mjj@mstdn.dk heck yes! It was ridiculously small compared to today Fediverse, but that was the beginning of a revolution (Evan was definitively a pioneer!). And maybe precisely because we were few, it was easier to fit and everything felt more bi-directional, I dunno. Now it's more like joining a massive party and feeling lost in the inmensity, and crowdy spaces are not my thing haha. A more intimate and bi-directional community combined with today awareness on diversity would be ideal.

Lo mismo un día te cagas en todo lo cagable por todas las injusticias del mundo, y al rato una pequeña chorrada te alegra el día.

@CleefHanger@mastodon.art totalmente! Es muy fácil quedarse sólo con lo negativo, sobre todo cuando te afecta directamente. Pero aparte es que estas cosas te acaban quemando a largo plazo. Es por eso que por aquí no suelo hablar de política ni justicia social y demás a pesar de haber estado tan al frente como activista en diversas causas, y en lugar de eso sólo chorradas más triviales tipo música, arte y fotos de gatetes y paisajes lol. Tus dibujitos cumplen muy bien su función en ese sentido, por cierto!

@victorhck@mastodon.social "pero ahora nadie lee", y sin embargo el texto es el formato más universal y perdurable que existe. Gente con problemas de vista lo puede escuchar con un lector de pantalla, gente que habla otros idiomas puede usar un traductor, etc, y además ocupa poquísimo espacio. Ahora lo que se lleva es más puro vídeo pero nada como el buen texto plano. Genial idea, la verdad :)

@kdenlive oh, that's a really cool idea! easier than the plan I was thinking of (which was taking the photo with the cat alone sitting over the desk in front of screen). I have a bunch of WIPs for my music videos so I'll probably get use of any of the times working on them to just take the pic with the cat :)

@JoKingly@c.im yeah, that's the plan: not gonna leave completely, but just staying to post whatever new music stuff when I have anything new to share, not for social use at all, since I just don't feel like fitting or belonging here. Maybe I just had too high expectations because prior experiences with federated networks in the identi.ca times haha. But glad to see this place exists regardless. :)

@mjj@mstdn.dk @jezra@pleroma.jezra.net honestly my nostalgia with Identi.ca is more about the community and not so much about the interface (which went throughout a few different ones anyways, laconi.ca and pump.io being what I remember the best). But hey, it'd be cool if any Identi.ca client were updated to be compatible with today Fediverse, too! And I love the minimalistic style in that specific client, I don't know how I didn't hear of it back in the times!
