I love to share what I learn everyday with others. This has become evident in the work I do. Listed below are ways that I apply my creativity to the job world, although work is 4th on my priority list. I focus my time on my beautiful family, continuing my relationship with Jesus, and adding in hobbies such as photography to round me out.

  1. Mechanical Keyboards - I would even say manual typewriters for those people that used them. However the whiteout and the ribbons were a pain.

  2. Beauty even in the dark. There was a large moon tonight that was amazing to see when I got up.

  3. When work gets "done, done, done" and congratulatory emails that I never respond to flow.

  1. Being quick to listen. When I do, it keeps me humble because I realize I might have said the wrong thing.

  2. Spending an hour long drive in conversation. No headphones or other media involved.

  3. I got a chance to just think and reflect. No agenda.

1. Setting a boundary on reading people's posts. The boundary is, when you find something that is thought provoking, think about it and quit scrolling.

2. When I see a list of positive reflection notes over "improvements"

3. The satisfaction of building in a sustainable mindset. Not everything is urgent, important, or worthwhile.

  1. Devotional included a short video on the Power of Words! Especially the ones that you talk to yourself about.

  2. Finding wise people for counsel can be challenging. But seeking wisdom is eventually rewarded.

  3. Standing up for the people that need the resources to advocate for themselves. Better yet provide the resources with coaching and empowerment.

  1. Making a pineapple upside down cake for a church picnic. The good part is I had left over batter to make my own personal one.

  2. 15 minutes a day to explore something new.

  3. Building the capacity by delegating work to others. Best part, growing in trust, but I am still verifying as prudent.

  1. Being a peacemaker instead of a peacekeeper, but both have merit.

  2. Being kind over being nice. Nice has long term harm without a healing mindset.

  3. Always be truthful. But know that there are times when the truth doesn't have to be said. This is a form of grace.

Quality looks different depending on where you stand.

A strategy team may see alignment.
A front-line team may see friction.

Both may be right.

This carousel walks through four lenses I use to assess quality more completely:

• Hang Glider
• Balcony
• Mosh Pit
• Orchestral Chamber

The goal is not to pick one lens.
The goal is to rotate lenses on purpose.

Which viewpoint am I missing right now?

Looking at Quality from Different Viewpoints: The Hang Glider, the Balcony, the Mosh Pit, and the Orchestral Chamber

Quality is a fascinating concept because it changes shape depending on where you are standing. The same initiative can feel brilliant to one person and incomplete to another. A product launch can seem flawless from the control room while appearing chaotic from the front lines. Quality is rarely a single measurement; it is a collection of perspectives. Within the PLACES Framework - Planning, Learning, Attitude, Communication, Execution, and Service - the pursuit of quality becomes less about find

Here is an individual, leadership, and teamwork framework I have developed.

This is a representation of many years of leading myself, teams, and being led.

Now I will be sharing across a wide spectrum of industries how to use this as a tool. First audience, software developers.

It has been on my mind to start blogging again. Today I am touching a subject that always gets me fired up. After the fact #metrics get me going.

Define Metrics During Planning, Not During Execution
Tribal Thirst

Define Metrics During Planning, Not During Execution

Metrics belong in planning, not as an afterthought during execution. Teams often spend their time tracking results after work begins, but not enough time deciding which measures actually matter before the work starts.
