@Impossible_PhD Ah, I grabbed an old listing by mistake... But I actually think there will be another search coming up in the same department (maybe more broadly defined)

@Impossible_PhD Williams College (depending on what you're meaning by university; Williams is in MA USA) WGSS is hiring a tenure track position in trans studies:

Why not look at eLife as a closely related set of 6x5 "journals", one for each of the ratings levels in the assessment, each with different prestige? I really don't see the meaningful difference between "published in Nature" and "landmark findings, exceptional evidence"
(or maybe that's Cell, Nature is probably only "compelling" evidence!)

@elduvelle_neuro The recall probably both draws on the real connections that were made but also partly reinforces the ones that we do recall, so the connections are altered by the act of remembering, strengthened but not uniformly the way they were first made
All based on vague imagination mostly from popular press descriptions! I just do bacteria and biomolecules lol, no eukaryotes please

@MCDuncanLab @neuralreckoning @adredish @elduvelle @albertcardona @jonmsterling It's not like the lower end of the ratings scale doesn't exist in traditional publishing while still qualifying as peer reviewed. I think nobody would contest that you can eventually get a shoddy paper published SOMEWHERE without improving it. So I don't see a reason not to replace either end of the quality/impact scale for journals with eLife ratings, and then why would the middle be any different?

@albertcardona @MCDuncanLab @neuralreckoning @adredish @elduvelle @jonmsterling I suppose the lowest rating for impact is "useful" so maybe the editor is indeed meant to make the judgement of whether the work meets that bar

@rooster@beige.party I'm mostly joking, she's probably too famous, but it just screams her style!
