Exploring the biggest construction site in Europe: ESMC Dresden, a Taiwanese-German #chip joint venture.
More water diverted? There’s enough for all, we learn. More housing? That’s for the market to tackle. Energy needs? Complex. Workers on site? Many from eastern Europe. Fascinating
The dirty chunks are back, baby: “Global coal imports in May are expected to be more than 464,000 tonnes, the third highest monthly coal imports on record.” FT.com
Well, #coal has never been in decline. We have never had a #transition.

It's assets, making and milking assets for rent. On point
I missed a paper submission deadline because I was sick, there was just no bodily capacity. If the stomach flu hits you, you are knocked out, this always amazes me.
That’s one effective way to curb the academic drive for ever more “contributions”

As a newbie myself, a server hosted by and for the community sounds like a viable choice — and perhaps a chance? —, but so does saying no and moving on, I guess.
#Vietnam was hit hard by the strike on #Iran: people stranded in the Middle East, not able to return after Tet aka New Year’s. The region also relies on fossil fuel energy imports from the region. A pity that energy corruption is so high

On the atomic level, etching #semiconductors is a violent, explosive process. I recommend this China Talk pod with an expert who explains chemical use in fabs. Also nuts: purity levels reaching “particles per trillion.”
