Thanks to y'all's support, I've managed to make it through this year, and I've managed to heal so much. I'm re-upping the fundraiser so I can close out this last bit of burnout recovery: moving to a new place. http://gofundme.com/railresurgrecov http://cash.app/$sotreu2 http://venmo.com/sotreu http://paypal.me/rikiam #MutualAid #MutualAidRequest #BlackMutualAid #TransCrowdFund #TransMutualAid #HelpFolksLive2026 #BIPOCCrowdfund @mutual_aid@starflower.space @mutualaid @mutual_aid@hexbear.net @MutualAidVisibility@mastodon.social @anarchomutual@freeradical.zone

Like. I log onto fedi and some racist white transfem is like "someone made two fediblock posts about me and this is the height of transphobia" Then I log onto IG and one of the Black trans women I'm moots with is like "So I might be going back to jail on my birthday because my transphobic roommate called the cops on me a few weeks back in an attempt to force me out the house" And honestly I'm so sick of white trans people being such fucking crybabies while Black and brown people, trans AND cis, are going through the type of raw hell they'll *never* directly experience, *because* they are white in a white supremacist society/world.

And this is why I've reached the point where I'm never going to say you're not trans, but white AMABs who spend most of their offline life doing that cracker ass "boymoding" bullshit can't tell me shit about transphobia. You move through the world being read as a white man and treated accordingly, Black transfems can't "boymode" because being read as a Black man doesn't protect them from violence, including gender based violence!!!!!!! And yes being targeted by your race + gender by the state is gender based violence!!!!!!!!!!!

Aaah but asked and answered, the writing on anti-transmasculinity is done mainly by Black Trans Folks, and y'all like to pretend we don't exist Not until it's time to appropriate the violence done against mainly us, especially Black trans women, as if nonBlack trans people face the same level of transphobia and violence (statistically speaking y'all don't)* *save for Indigenous trans folks

I haven't read it in full bc it got published while I was napping 😅 But the author was lovely to talk to, so kind And whatever else I'm glad it's out there bc watching the erasure of my work around #YourSlipIsShowing be erased in real time as I got deeper into my transition has been a whole mindfuck and a half

Fact is between shit like fleeing anti-trans legislation in my former home of North Carolina, the traumatizing ending of my last job, navigating family estrangement, the death of my hashtag (#YourSlipIsShowing) co-creator, getting my health together for gender affirming surgeries and the fun discoveries that have come with that process (hello fibroids!!), getting my mental health together and the exhausting process and even more fun discoveries that come with that (hello ARFID, hello OCD!!), watching my work with #YourSlipIsShowing be erased in real time via misgendering (sometimes thoughtless sometimes intentional), a couple of COVID infections, and discovering that the Epstein horror actually touches me directly twice over, one of them being the guy's role in the founding of the site that spurred the need for #YSIS in the first place..............yeah. Mans (me) is burnt out. Thoroughly. Like I can’t even fake it no more.

@coeurl @ranja thisssss omfg don't get me started on how the popular narrative around transition is one that assumes the trans person is able bodied and has not ever and will continue to not ever experience medical discrimination The big problem is the way that the popular understanding of what it means to be trans, even within trans communities, is based on the experiences of white middle class able bodied AMAB people specifically.

I don't understand how more people aren't calling out how weird and exclusive this is???? Like when your transfeminism only has room for detransitioned trans men, it's literally TIRFism bc the only difference between this and classic TERFism is that (mostly nonBlack) trans women are trying to include themselves in the Cult Of True Womanhood. (Nb4 someone takes me saying "the Cult Of True Womanhood" in the most bad faith way possible because they didn't start reading feminist theory until the past few years when they started their transition)

And that’s before we get to the bleak, bleak, BLEAK picture of employment for Black gender minorities in the U.S. Black cis women ended 2025 with an unemployment rate of 7.5%*, and while I haven’t been able to track down current numbers for Black trans folks of any gender, past reports have Black trans folks at twice the unemployment rate of Black cis folks, more likely to live in poverty than Black cis folks, and generally experiencing higher rates of transphobia than non-Black trans people**. So at this point I think it makes more sense for me to figure out my own ~thing~ than to chase a certain kind of employment in this current fascistic atmosphere.

  • = https://19thnews.org/2026/01/black-women-unemployment-rate-skyrocketed-2025/

Black women's unemployment has skyrocketed. Here’s what happened.
The 19th

Black women's unemployment has skyrocketed. Here’s what happened.

The rate is now equivalent to White women’s during the bleakest moments of the Great Recession.

But I need help to even get to the baseline where I can seriously pursue Head Hustler status without crashing and burning within weeks, let alone get back to writing or to any of the artmaking and digital curation work and nerding out about Blackness I *actually* live for, and wish to develop long-term sustainable practices around. So yah, that’s what this gfm is about, in a nutshell. I gotta hit a hard restart on how I’m living and how I’m approaching life, and this’ll give me just enough breathing room to make some real changes for the better. https://gofund.me/c64de3155

@coeurl <3 yeah like the way I see it, and I'm just one person: – misandry doesn't exist, thus trying to argue for a transmisandry isn't worth it especially when *we have other language available to describe being oppressed on the basis of ones transmasculinity* – if you read the original essay that defined transandrophobia there's points being made but it's all been hopelessly hijacked by bad faith readings at this point, and the relevant parts pf the analysis the term offered are also addressed by the term anti-transmasculinity – the term "transemasculation" was created by a non-transmasc who's expressed anti-transmasc sentiment in the past, I don't believe in anything about us, without us, especially when it comes from a nonBlack transfem who finds it easier to be in community with detransitioned transmasc people than transmascs ourselves, as we are – the term anti-transmasculinity is an intersectional term that is grounded in Black transfeminism, and I think this is a huge reason why everyone around these parts is reluctant to actually use it and instead wanna argue endlessly about trans/misandry

"Why should the Black man need some legislation to prove that he’s a human being when you don’t need any legislation to prove that whites are human beings? So, I make this point because, to come right back to my initial statement at the out-start of the program: You will never get real freedom and recognition between Black and white people in this country without destroying the country, without destroying the present political system, without destroying the present economic system, without rewriting the entire constitution. It would be a complete destruction of everything that America supposedly stands for before a white man in this country will recognize a Black man as something on the same level with himself." – Malcom X

@ranja @coeurl !!! also this!!! I sincerely don't know anyone worth taking seriously who seriously thinks that misandry is Really A Thing and also I think it is good to bully men back especially the cishet men who are the main ones making life for gender minorities intolerable on like a systemic level I just wanna be able to have a conversation about say the reproductive violence transmascs experience without someone jumping in being like "oh so you think transmisandry exists huh you privileged male" or whatever 😅

@JoscelynTransient @forestine ugh and it's so frustrating bc so many of us spent so much time on Tumblr educating and making resources available to ppl, like we weren't just talking shitnl we were uploading articles, sharing quotes and links and this was before the rise of social media infotainment in the late 2010s. Sigh.

@FinalGirl honestly at this point I don't think it's a matter of understanding for most of them, I think they understand it perfectly and are doing the thing white people do to maintain their racial innocence, they pretend not to understand so they can pretend like they're not implicated or actively participating in the oppression of it all.
