Some beautiful moments on Michael Cloud Duguay’s album—a document of place, people, and old church organs. I’m married to a Newfoundlander, so I know these places and can really feel them here. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2026/jun/18/michael-cloud-duguay-album-church-organs
Visited the ramen bar featured on Rod Modell & Taka Noda’s ambient masterpiece Glow World. (Hat tip to my old friend @patrick_h_lauke@mastodon.social for sharing this location: Hakata Tenjin Ramen, Shinjuku.)

…bought from Tower Vinyl, Ella Records, Flash Disk Ranch, Siam Time, Waltz and Coconuts Disk. I skipped Disk Union and Kankyo because I’d already exceeded my packing (and spending) limit.
Shocked about Mani. Forever grateful that my teens aligned with the rise of the Roses' in 1988-90, when the summers went on forever. Here's a love letter I wrote back in 2012. https://colly.com/journal/the-stone-roses
Archived a deep Q&A about how I use field recordings and why they mean so much to me. https://colly.com/journal/composing-with-field-recordings

Akiko’s joyful solo performance was followed by a fierce quintet made up of tenor sax legend Kosuke Mine (love his First album), bonkers expressive pianist Fumio Itabashi, tireless dynamic drummer Takeo Moriyama, genre-hopping bassist Takashi Sugawa, and the roaring alto sax of Miyuki Moriya. Top night.
Having a tape stock sale, from now until end of #BandcampFriday.
I've found enough EP tapes to create five bundles — all four tapes (without maps or other extras) for £20
Reductions on everything else: Live at Delia’s £6, Remixed £5, Japan Series compilation £7
Here’s me fretting about my album taking four years (so far); meanwhile, Shrinkwrap’s Time & Space is finally here after 25 years of gentle progress. Another warm and fuzzy release from my good friends at Nottingham fab micro-label Delia. #BandcampFriday https://deliarecordings.bandcamp.com/album/time-space
