I've seen a massive increase in what look like spammy registration attempts over the last few weeks. At first sight they look genuine, but they have no relevance to epicure.social and they all come from weird email domains.

(side not: if there is no mention of food, wine or other beverages in your request to join epicure.social then I will instantly reject the registration.)

Curious if other @Mastodon@mastodon.social admins have seen a similar increase in spam?

Rather huge news, that has been quietly reported in a few organs over the last few weeks: Consorzio Collio has voted to create an orange wine classification as part of DOC Collio.

I took a detailed look and asked main man Saša Radikon for his input.

Hi Epicureans, we had a disk space issue that resulted in Epicure Social being offline for the last 24 hours or so, Apologies for this, of course I was travelling and took my eye off the ball!

It's now resolved, we're back as normal.

I will be taking steps to make sure that disk space issues like this do not reoccur.

This piece about how a seemingly tiny mistranslation might have spawned a monster (natural wine!) has invited some serious discussion in the comments . . .
