Gotta love the sunny side of 47's legacy:

@Hex@kolektiva.social Well, the "AI" scanned three of my books without asking permission. I am privileged in that I don't depend on royalties for survival, but some (many? most?) authors do.

@pvonhellermannn@mastodon.green I just finished reading MollyCrabapple's book about the Jewish Labor Bund ("Here where we live is our country") and am still trying to decide whether the Bundists' international socialist solidarity and unrequited (to say the least) love of their home countries — notably, Poland — makes sense to me.

@anildash@me.dm I eagerly clicked on the link, expecting to find an open-source LLM to run on my laptop so that I could run my agent-based models locally, but instead it was a dedicated video-processing app... nice of them to make it open-source, but it's not quite an AI (even by the LLMs' limited standard).

@whatanerd@social.treehouse.systems Why lump together Paulo Freire or Judith Suissa with the Harvard Business School?

@whatanerd@social.treehouse.systems Hm, I had missed that part, obviously. Still, Freire, or Ferrer, or... Also, the idea is to educate kids, not fully formed fascists.
