The end of an era: after 15+ years, I've switched off our.umbraco.com.
I wrote up some of the story, the karma, the spam wars and a few fond arguments

From fostering contributions to learning what makes our developer community tick ☑️, to hosting a weekly open coding session to making coffee ☕ for colleagues. I do it all.
But I do need my kayak 🛶 sessions and live music 🎸too. Remember live music, from the before times?
Interested in #umbraco (yes, since I do work there), also #dotnet #indiemusic #livemusic #copenhagen #craftbeer #homebrewing #raspberrypi #homeautomation #homeassistant #android - among other things.

The Umbraco Spark conference is drawing to a close and it's been a brilliant edition again this year. Great talks, record attendance, impeccable organisation, inspirational hackathon before.. am I using too many superlatives? 😇
If you're trying to get up to speed with Umbraco AI then this month's umbraCoffee has you covered!
A great walk through with @matt@umbracocommunity.social on everything that's new and upcoming in Umbraco AI.
📽️ Watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/live/uY9pZz5NHaQ?si=_ZDaegyWNkOyjyBo
It was so interesting to have @matt@umbracocommunity.social join me and @lotte@umbracocommunity.social to show us how all the concepts of Umbraco.AI fit together.
Profiles, temperatures, tokens, prompts, agents, copilots, and more.. there sure was a lot to cover!
👀 Also, we got a sneak preview of the new tests feature and the upcoming TipTap integration.
📽️ The latest DevRel Deep Dive is up now: https://youtu.be/_RUYI1xNzdE?si=tM4NKslxXOy3ps4L

Is Joe trying to apply for a job in my team? Looks like it! 😉
A new DevRel Deep Dive just dropped. @lotte@umbracocommunity.social and I are joined by Phil Whittaker, guiding us through some new AI Skills he's been working on that help make backoffice extensions (and review and test them..!).
This video concludes with a working GitHub User Picker for Umbraco. We had a few hiccups but it was a lot of fun to do!
In last weeks DevRel Deep Dive, @lotte@umbracocommunity.social and I took a look at Blend's new packages for helping with robots.txt and sitemap.xml files.
Since there was a bit of config to set up for the sitemap, I got lazy and asked Claude Code to use the Umbraco MCP server to get my document types and set up the config for me.

🚨 New DevRel Deep Dive dropped earlier this week!
This week @lotte@umbracocommunity.social and me were joined by Head of CMS Andy Butland to talk about what is new and improved in Umbraco version 17.2 and 17.3.
📽️ Watch it here: https://youtu.be/nBEgfifIP0o?si=mKDEc5_ea770dsZW
Am enjoying working with Claude and some skills way too much. Wondered if I could make a nice GitHub user picker. 10 minutes later... TADA.
It stores username, name, github id, and bio. The refresh button fetches any name and bio updates.
Last week, I noticed 2 new packages had popped up on the Umbraco Marketplace. Both of them can be used to build tables. So we thought we'd do an Umbraco Tables Showdown 💥
Well.. we ended up being just a bit more boring than that - new DevRel Deep Dive episode now up:

🚀 New DevRel Deep Dive just dropped!
@lotte@umbracocommunity.social and me walk through contributing to an open source (!) Umbraco Cloud site, deploying it to live.
We want to establish a great workflow for contributions and encourage you to get involved to make open source Cloud sites great. This is going to be the basis for the new version of https://community.umbraco.com which we'd love to build together with YOU 🤩

Only 2 (TWO!) more days to vote for Umbraco in the CMS Critic Awards if you haven't done so..!
Nominated in 9 categories (10 if you count uSkinned.. and of course: we DO count uSkinned!)
In the last 9 days I've "written" (sorry: prompted) an RSS reader that does what I need it to do and a TV show/episode tracking tool that works for exactly my needs.
While it feels like the age of Hyperpersonal Software (userbase: 1) has arrived, I do wonder if I will keep enjoying these tools that were made and if I'll keep using them.
On the other hand: it's been great to ask Claude for a new feature and just getting it without being at the whim of someone else (pesky humans haha!).
