Well done Spain 🇪🇸
And Cabo Verde didn't lose goals to Spain whereas Argentina did, heh, heh 👏.

A place dear to my heart has a very special birthday. It was founded over two centuries ago.
Yes, that's right. We're celebrating 250 years of Tomintoul in Moray in the highlands of Scotland.
Happy birthday Tomintoul!🎉

Fascinated by the zen-like state of the bears standing or sitting still, little movement. The fish practically just jump into the mouths of the bears. That's some fish supper, can you get any fresher.
Not loving the TV camera positioning. Feels distant, too far away. Closer please director, you don't need to keep so much of the crowd in the shot.
Police Scotland declares major incident as emergency services respond to Cairngorms wildfire near Nethy Bridge - Police Scotland
"... all residents of Nethy Bridge are being evacuated"
😲
With all the wildfires I'm learning what a hectare is as a unit of area.
It's as if you have an area equivalent to 100m x 100m
For my mental model, this is roughly one and a half football pitches.
Love seeing all the wee places and islands represented 😍

Typical. A few days of holiday and I've picked up a cold. Sweating, nausea and runny nose, sneezing head off 😓🤢🤧. Delightful not.
Nethy full film with subtitles
Another fascinating watch. Jimmy Macleod, head forester of a tree nursery (Dell Nursery) near Nethy Bridge that ceased operation in 1984.
He talks about the effect changing from horses and plough to tractors had on the soil and drainage, using kilns for extracting seeds from Scots pine cones, planting and much more.

Gingerman: Episode 319-Nethybridge
For anyone interested in what the area around Nethy Bridge. Video taken spring 2025. Brilliant watch.
Contains some drone footage to give you an idea of how close and extensive the wooded areas on the hills are to the houses and people living there. You can understand the evacuation better.
Passed through it on my recent trip to Tomintoul.
Fingers crossed that the area escapes the worst 🤞
