@cassidy@mastodon.blaede.family@siosm@floss.social Some of the negative responses to this. Wow! I’m a KDE Plasma user primarily but I’m also chewing up Flathub’s bandwidth and using a bunch of GTK apps so you can have some of my money. 🙂
Long shot, but anyone at #emfcamp based in or around Romsey, Hampshire?
I’ve been inspired to start a local Repair Cafe. Unfortunately the repair cafe organisation don’t provide any tools to actually find local like minded people.
Might be a poster on lamp post job…
@ncopa@fosstodon.org@mjwin Another owner of some RPi 1s here. They are just barely usable in 2026. It would be a shame to lose Alpine support but I wouldn’t be too bitter about it. Much like with i686, it’s a question of when the maintenance burden is too much for the tiny number of users. 🤷
@Sarah111well@mas.to@suearcher Yes I think Southampton and Ringwood are going to be good sources of people and advice to kick start this. I’m blown away by all the replies to this post honestly.
@suearcher@toot.wales Thanks! I’m a member of the local Green Party as it happens. Not a bad idea. Southampton may have people I can poach. 😆
Thanks for the info. I will process properly and come up with a plan when not at EMF.
@suearcher@toot.wales Yes the talk at EMF laid that out quite nicely. I now feel semi-armed take this forward. The tea and cake are as important as the people with screwdrivers and sewing needles!
