Well. The Kickstarter launched. Man. We hit the goal in two HOURS. Then we hit the first stretch goal the same day before I could tell anyone there even was one. Holy moly.

So we're on to the big one! Jump in an back this if you haven't yet, it's going to be a beautiful book, and I'm really proud of it: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/portermason/cute-animals-for-flawed-people?ref=49i8hi

Here’s a fun Doctor Who commission I finished up last night.

Proof copy of the Roonie book. I've stared at it for longer than I care to admit.

If you're considering the Collector's Archive tier — hardcover plus both Bassist Wanted paperbacks, name in the book, custom sketch — this is what the centerpiece actually looks like. (But just hardcover.)

We hit the second stretch goal! Fancy books for all!

If we can somehow unfathomably hit $15k, I can include some Roonie swag with every book: fun sticker sheets and bookmarks. Let's go!!

A thing about the Original Art tier that I don't think I've mentioned: the archive includes comics from my college strip, early Roonie stuff from the syndication phase, and Bassist Wanted pages that ran in newspapers in the early 2000s.

Classic! Very fun! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/portermason/cute-animals-for-flawed-people?ref=49i8hi

Weekend check-in. The Kickstarter is movin' and groovin'.

The Complete Roonie the Rabbit, Book One — 301 strips in a hardcover that is, by the way, genuinely nice. I have the proof copy in hand, and the colors look so great in print.

Quick one: there are limited Original Art slots in this Kickstarter. I've never sold originals before. When they're gone, they're gone.

That tier's $250 and you get to pick any single strip from my archives — Bassist Wanted, early Roonie syndication pitches, or my late-'90s college strip. Plus you get the bardcover Roonie, both Bassit Wanted books, a custom sketch, and loads of digital books and coloring pages.

Halfway through the campaign.

Original Art slots: a few left! If you've been on the fence, it's a genuine question of whether they'll be there next week. That tier is $250 and you pick the piece, plus all the books, a custom sketch, and a lot more.

The Bassist Wanted paperbacks that come with the Collector's Archive are the only way I'm shipping those books this round. They're signed, they're real, they ran in newspapers 25 years ago, and they're surprisingly still funny.

$100 tier. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/portermason/cute-animals-for-flawed-people?ref=49i8hi

Week two on Kickstarter.

The Original Art tier is my favorite one to talk about because I'm genuinely a little nervous about it. Ten backers, $250 each, pick any original strip from my archives. I've been drawing for a long time and never made them available.

(You also get all my books, a custom sketch, and a lot more.)

Heading into the final stretch of the campaign next week. If you've been spectating from the sidelines, now's a reasonable time to jump in.

Most common question I'm getting: what's the difference between Your Place in History ($75) and Collector's Archive ($100)? Answer: Collector's Archive adds BOTH Bassist Wanted paperbacks.

Week three!

Want to talk about the Collector's Archive tier. It's $100, and it's honestly the one I'd pick if I weren't the guy making the thing. You get the hardcover, both Bassist Wanted paperbacks (my early 2000s newspaper strip, PG-13, about the music industry), your name in the back of the book, a custom sketch on a bookplate, plus the full digital set.

It's the full Porter Mason catalog. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/portermason/cute-animals-for-flawed-people?ref=49i8hi
