A commissioned piece off to its forever home yesterday: 'Wetheral Wedding', watercolour, 59 x 37 cm. This lovely church and memorial gate are close to where I grew up, which made this one more special for me - we actually did the sketchwork for the painting on a holiday to the area!

Our newest print: 'Starlight at Roseisle', watercolour, 29x38 cm. The Milky Way shines its cool light above the Moray Firth as we look down a sandy draw to the beach. The original painting is sold but prints in 3 sizes are available at https://www.robwighamwatercolours.com/nairn-to-findhorn.html gallery. I really, really enjoyed painting this one which makes a great partner to our other print 'The Highlands by Starlight!'

'Moonlight over the Highlands', watercolour (lots of it!), 59 x 37 cm - our latest print, continuing our little run of night-time scenes! This time the moonlight is the star, casting its yellow glow over the fields and mountains as a family of deer stand in the corn stubble. The painting was sold but prints are available in 4 sizes - see https://www.robwighamwatercolours.com/moonlight.html for details!

'Portgordon from the Old Railway Embankment', watercolour, 54 x 35 cm is the latest addition to our print range. The painting was done as a commission; I got ripped to shreds by brambles for this view, but it was worth it! The print is available in 3 sizes - see www.robwighamwatercolours.com/kingstontoportessie.html for details!

'On the Garden Steps', watercolour, 34 x 21 cm. A commissioned painting which brings to life a 100 year-old photograph. The owner of this house has a black and white photo of a previous owner of the house sitting on the steps sometime in the 1920s with her dog. This painting brings the scene up to date with the current owner and dogs, but retaining the period clothing. What a joy it was to revisit a moment from a century ago in paint and colour in the same spot!
Continuing on from last week's post of the updated old photograph, here's the partner painting - a proper house portrait - of this beautiful house in the modern day: 'Oakbank', watercolour, 59 x 38 cm. The detail on the house, including both stonework and stained glass windows were all important in this commissioned work. Such a characterful house, it was a joy to paint!

A few of the murals I've been painting in the last few days for our new Grandson's nursery. He's due in March. These are painted using tester pots in emulsion, which isn't fun to use, but great fun! I hope he enjoys growing up looling at his animals - there are also badgers, foxes, a barn owl and hedgehogs dotted around the room #mastoart #scotland
'Starlight at Brimham Rocks', watercolour, 28 x 39 cm. A couple and two dogs enjoy the night-time view from this lovely rock formation in Yorkshire. The painting was completed as a a private commission and prints aren't available of this image.
