@TrueBlue4THREE@mastodon.social @ChiaChatter@theres.life I'm not active on social media and I guess I am one of the small accounts that rarely if ever replies. As an introvert I am much more comfortable to sit back and let the talkative individuals share. That does not mean I am stuck up, aloof or not interested. In fact I am thoughtful, probably carefully considering what is bring said and will chime in if I feel there is an opening. (There often isn't - extroverts can change the subject 3 times before I feel there as an opening to talk in).
The online world is similar. Why am I here? To listen to peoples opinions on topics I am interested in, whether I agree with them or not. To follow people I am genuinely interested in (and occasionally pray for even if I have never met them). To watch what is going on - it's kind of like going to the mall to people watch, but online instead. Also to connect with people in the real world. Yes I have actually had a phone or video call with people I met here on Mastodon. Some very nice people I might add.
I am not a fan of the big "social media" sites like X, Facebook, Instagram etc. While I do have accounts on them I do not monitor them and I find the sites very toxic. I find the little corner of Mastodon I am in to be very nice, friendly and open. It's really refreshing in an increasingly toxic world.
MY 2 cents. I hope it helps give you a little insight into the small seemingly inactive accounts.
