The reason I'm invested in empowering people at the protocol level is bc it'll take one Big Tech infinite money spigot to spin up another protocol to make all the other protocols irrelevant. If we can Bridgy and Bounce things, we can change the power dynamics of that sitatuation.
Turns out, bridging is as important as we've been saying it is!
When the competition has an infinite money spigot, the path forward is solidarity and leaning into the openness of the tools available. I'm glad to see that folks are finally realizing it.

If Meta followed through on their promises of Fediverse Threads and Andy bridged his Threads account here with Bridgy Fed, he wouldn't need yet another account on a platform his company doesn't own to do comms about how his company isn't dying.
