Pro Tip: Don't get a Depression. Sure, the brochures make it sound super-enticing, but they don't talk about the hidden costs and, frankly, it sucks balls. And not in a fun way. It's even bad at this.

So, I currently don't have much spoons to post or even create art atm, since last weekend my mom finally passed away.

Peacefully, in her sleep, because the whole nerve-wracking dance with death she got done last year, recuperated, making everyone at the nursing home believe in miracles and then, half a year later, decided "eh, maybe not" without any warning whatsoever. Which is pretty much on-brand for her.

I joke, but it has not been a good week.

Also, I know my mom would appreciate me finding humour in it. She couldn't complain either, not just bc being dead, but bc she raised me like this. She was pretty amazing, all in all. I think I got my interest in art from her. She also inadvertently introduced me to pulp fantasy and sci-fi as a kid early on, bc her hidden stashes of these books weren't as hidden as she thought they'd be. I still turned out mostly fine, I think. But it probably did colour my perception of these genres until today. Not complaining, mind you, just saying.

I think most of what I learned about kindness, empathy and art I got from my parents. And it leaves me with a sort of hollow feeling of emptiness to now know they're both gone and I am officially without any family left.

Also, losing someone dear apparently is not enough in the eyes of this fucking state, bc they make sure you really hurt with the fuckton of logistics and bureaucratic processes they come at you with.
This is draining my batteries fast.

I will be more active again and post some art. But it might take some time.

I hate the trend of feedback system messages where your only options are "yes, let me help you advertise your product" and *Not now,* implying I will surely do it later – because what choice do you have, user? I will pester you again and again until you finally do it.

I miss the time where I got treated like an adult by software.

What it feels like:
Creating a beautifully rendered artwork with lots of love for detail and tone: 3 likes, tumbleweeds rolling, crickets chirping.
Posting a hasty quick sketch that took about an hour: 300 likes, public parades and people asking to sign their firstborn.

Dark Thoughts: Still there, but can't be bothered to care much about them, because my brain is feverishly searching for the next dopamine-laden task similar to that to focus on.

So, I was out getting some soft drinks for tomorrow's game day and there were those two young dudes in front of me at the cash register line.
One complained to the other that his gf was giving him grief over always making her cry "or something" and he took that as a prompt to tell her what he thought she did wrong in his mind (it was a long list). So when his friend asked, "yeah, but what did she specifically say she was unhappy about?", bro went "I dunno, wasn't listening, really."

I surely hope someone is being single real soon. Like, damn girl, raise your standards.
