to the people rooting for steve: the steve in question who sent me election mailers is some chud running for county commissioner who is backed by groups with "patriot" in their names and by the organization trying to end vote-by-mail. sorry to burst any bubbles lol.

@nathanlovestrees This is one boundary that comes up constantly in my work — kids who haven't yet learned that they can't talk with their friends and the rest of their classmates the same way. I've explained so many times that teasing is only fun for everyone if the teasee feels okay telling the teaser that they've crossed a line, and the teaser is then willing to change their behavior as needed; sometimes this sinks in, sometimes they don't care. It's also part of my go-to explanation as to why we prohibit certain words/behaviors at school (as opposed to the "we're preparing you for work" justification a lot of my coworkers are fond of).

yes, I had to look up the story of Columbus and the egg because I wasn't familiar with it, and yes it was because of Fate/Grand Order

@nathanlovestrees @casy the Cloudy Days puer from Crimson Lotus is so so smooth though, I've gotten a few students who'd never really drunk tea interested by trying that one

@casy you're welcome! I tried a sampler from that brand recently and liked them all, and since you're both skipping caffeine and a mushroom aficionado I figured you might enjoy it

@casy I've honestly been happy with every puer I've bought from them, but the two that my partner and I purchased entire cakes of are Lumberslut and Camphornought! we're actually on our second cake of Lumberslut now; that one is very approachable and smooth, and it's one I can show to someone who's newer to puer. as I've drunk more puer I've started craving darker brews with more bite, and Camphornought fills that role while still being smooth. I tried one from Crimson Lotus (Holy Flame) that was actually too bitter and astringent; I haven't been able to figure out how to best brew it yet.

@nathanlovestrees @casy yeah, I got it to barely drinkable by keeping the water in the for just as long as it took for me to pour it in and out, but I might need to just age the rest of my brick and try it periodically
