We visited the Museum of the Earth and saw an exhibit of glass sea creatures made by the Blaschkas: jellyfish, sea slugs, octopuses, hydrozoans, worms, anemones, and more
We’ve been experimenting with the transparency toolkit from HeyGears to create optically clear models of radiolarians, microscopic single-celled marine organisms that build intricate glass skeletons with stunning geometric complexity.
We’ve been designing and printing radiolarians in transparent resin for a while, but this is the first time we’ve been able to make them truly clear.

Exciting update about our sculpture at MIT, a robin has built a nest in it! And it's having babies!
Excited to finally announce we are collaborating with scientists to create a 3D bioprinted liver with an award from ARPA-H https://n-e-r-v-o-u-s.com/blog/?p=9970
The optical clarity of these prints is pretty amazing. Model on the left was printed in standard transparent resin vs the right was printed in HeyGears PAT10 + sprayed with g115 clear coat
Big fox tried to nab my guinea fowl today. Don’t think he expected them to fly up into a tree and escape
Testing out dyeing acrylic 3D prints using acid dye. It works great and achieves translucent colors in seconds
With the rising cost of silver, I’m transitioning most of my stainless pendants to stainless steel chains. It gave me an excuse to spend a nice afternoon re-photographing them.
Our best selling puzzle is also our hardest puzzle. The Earth Infinity Puzzle is based on an icosahedral projection and has the topology of a sphere. This results in the puzzle being reconfigurable, with no edges and no fixed shape

@Infoseepage@mastodon.social nice they are pretty intricate. did you need many connection points for something like the snowflake?
@Infoseepage@mastodon.social I haven't done it myself. I'd like to try. How complex were the models you were electroplating?
