Mighty Murder Mittens
Going to say it because it needs to be said.
If you're still buying games publishes or owned by Microsoft, buying Microsoft products, using Microsoft services, dual-booting Windows for any reason other than work, or helping people use Microsoft products and/or services, you are part of the problem. By engaging in this behavior you are telling Microsoft that you are OK with their practices, even if you're still on Windows 10 or earlier.
They will not stop until all their customers leave.
Politics has no place in #FOSS unless it's something that impacts FOSS. The number of political activists in the community who try to force their ideology into the software - whether that ideology is compatible with the philosophy of FOSS or not - is appalling.
Whether it's Mozilla firing Brendan Eich or the devs of Alpine Linux directly stating that their decision to not include a software is political or PolyMC kicking out everyone because of disagreement, this needs to come to an end.
@ChaosMuppet@chaos.social Yeah, we hit the initial years of the cyberpunk dystopia a decade ago and that became apparent to everyone else about 3 years ago.
@charlykuehnast@chaos.social Because nobody buying wine in a box is clever enough to get the joke.

The trend in the United States of various states opting to censor the internet under the guise of that trite pearl-clutching "think of the children!" mantra is so cringe for so many reasons.
First and foremost because this isn't enforceable without creating a CCP or North Korea style system of no contact with the outside world. VPNs exist and now they're looking like a much better option for people. The problem with that is literally anyone can make a VPN, most of them are predatory, and /
@endDRM@hostux.social Digital Rights Management is about protecting the rights of the IP holders and distributors. It doesn't actually work, mind you, but that's what the name is about. The rights of the sellers, not the rights of the consumers. Don't get me wrong, I think DRM is stupid along with regional distribution locking. I just recognize that your rhetoric is idiotic.
@GrumpyRabbit@social.teci.world If they're definitively artificial and if it's confirmed they come from a time before we could launch objects into space, I think that's pretty conclusive.
@techcrunch@threads.net They should do what Microsoft did and re-open shuttered nuclear facilities with updates tech and safety standards. Solar isn't viable, wind isn't viable, only nuclear.
@judgedread@poa.st Define "government alignment"
I subscribe to works well and feels correct. If you're not taking pride in your work to the extent of making it the best that it can be, then why are you in this line of work?
@fsf@hostux.social I wish I could but I need to work for a living.
@murena@mastodon.social It doesn't matter if they have better working conditions than the rest of China. If this is coming out of the People's Republic of China you're still doing business with a Chinese company, which means you're still giving money to the CCP, which means you're funding genocide. Taiwan (AKA The Republic of China) is the only China that you can ethically source from.
Garuda's FireDragon finally has the chrome-like tab grouping. I no longer have a reason to not use it aside the occasional Firefox incompatible website.
@Samsai@mastodon.social @ThePlant@mastodon.social I see this same joke in different forms every election year.
