@brianvastag One piece of misinformation about regenerative braking I see in way to many posts and articles is that EVs only do regenerative braking with the regen setting for taking your foot off the accelerator, when in actuality, most (if not all) EVs will use regenerative braking when you use the brake pedal. Friction braking will only be applied if the driver is attempting to slow faster than regen braking can do.

@hacks4pancakes@infosec.exchange I was so so disappointed when I heard they canceled Starfleet Academy! I do match that demographic you mentioned (straight white older dude) but my opinions have never aligned with what it seems the majority of them (us?) think. I thought it got off to a slowish start, but as the episodes started fleshing out the characters it was really getting me involved and caring about them. I thought the last couple of episodes were great! So boo on Paramount!

Took my car to the dealer for a complimentary annual maintence today. They told me the cabin air filter was not covered and it needed to be replaced, they did show me a very dirty filter before asking if I wanted them to replace it. I agreed in the moment to the $117 cost. I think it was about 50% parts and 50% labor. But I've now looked it up, and it's an incredibly simple thing to replace and is a $20 part. So never again. #carRepair #cardealer

@Nachtflug @brianvastag I've got a 2025 Hyundai kona ev, and I started by always setting the regen level to 0. That felt most like the manual shift I was used to. But I started using regen level 3 in stop and go traffic, and then more often in just city driving and now I use it all the time. I don't use the one pedal mode because I found it hard to really tell if I'd need to use the brake pedal. And I don't use the auto regen setting because there's no description of what the hell it does and I value understanding how my car is going to respond to my actions. All of which is to say I love my Hyundai EV.

Just about time for dinner, I've got a couple of dishes I got from the Asian food court as H Mart (Crazy noodles w/ shrimp, and Beef Kra Pow) and I'll enjoy them while continuing w/ my rewatch of Veronica Mars (I'm in season 3 now).
