And now your moment of Looie-loo. He loves the feel of corduroy under his toe beans.

#Journalism profs: Let's coordinate about which platform to switch our class-related #socialMedia assignments to. I'm leaning toward #Mastodon because #Twitter having an oligarch owner who shakes the antfarm for attention isn't conducive to learning and that behavior shouldn't be rewarded. We're between semesters, so this feels like a good time for this discussion.
And now your moment of Mila, who is obsessed with the drawstrings on the blinds. Happy #Caturday!
And now your moment of Looie-loo. I thought he might enjoy this little star projector I picked up at Ollie's (Slogan: "Good stuff cheap!" ) #caturday #caturdayeve #cats

@dangillmor@mastodon.social Ah, there it is: "The Leader reluctantly endorsed Santos’s Democratic opponent the next month. “This newspaper would like to endorse a Republican,” it wrote, but Santos “is so bizarre, unprincipled and sketchy that we cannot. … He boasts like an insecure child — but he’s most likely just a fabulist — a fake.”"
And now your moment of Looie-loo. Happy Caturday Eve!
And now your moment of Looie-loo, the very definition of a Linen Puma shown here in his namesake habitat. #linenpumas

@jayrosen_nyu@mastodon.social I notice meaningful engagement is already more common on Mastodon than the birdsite. My numbers are 200 follows/200 followers here vs. 1200ish/1800ish, but here I get 3x meaningful engagement. Is there such a thing as an intimate network effect? Because that's what I think I'm seeing: intimate social media.

@MediaLawProf@mastodon.social TikTok seems like a great option as well, though it's not so good for live microblogging in places where talking would be disruptive and you can't control background noise and other environment matters.

In some ways, it's like a cocktail party. A dozen or so people and you reach everyone. Compare that to an arena concert. You talk with maybe six people and there's so much noise you can't hear beyond that, other than the band and its amplifiers.

@dangillmor@mastodon.social Did that community news organization editorialize against Santos? Or did it adopt the "no more endorsements or editorials" stance that many papers are going with?

@Lee_in_Iowa@newsie.social @MediaLawProf@mastodon.social Video platforms demand you have total control of the audio environment, besides. Can't have that at a school board meeting or a basketball game unless you have broadcast network resources. Our students lack them.
And now your moment of Mila.
I was going through too much as the holidays approached to share this then, so I thought "better late than never."
