If you want to retire early you might be obsessed with paying no tax and throw all your money into a pension. Please remember that you can't access the pension until you're 57!! You need the ISA to get you from, say, early retirement at 50 to pension access at 57. Your tax-free dividend allowance has been cut by 90% in a few years, and almost no one noticed. It was £5,000 in 2017/18. It's £500 now. If you hold income shares outside an ISA, far more of the payout is now taxed. The shelter matters more every year. #Dividends #Tax #UKPersonalFinance
