Replying to

@aburka@hachyderm.io @neatnik@social.lol I tell people who bring Omarchy up enthusiastically about DHH's fascism and about how bad the code is. So far even two very AI pilled individuals (one fight at the time) are horrified enough to either say they won't check it out anymore or to stop bringing it up. But it's worrying how being aligned on vibe coding makes these people enthusiastically extol this shiny new thing without the most rudimentary background check - another example of AI addiction eroding critical thinking, or increaaing people's impatience I guess

RE: https://mastodon.social/@europeanspodcast/116968326350349013 Looks like #Qobuz is listening to @europeanspodcast@mastodon.social - it now has #lyrics support (finally, long overdue)... and a translation button! And the translation appears below the original line so you can sing along

🚨 NEW EPISODE We're deep into a hot hot summer and a lot of things are terrible, so forgive us for ignoring the news for one week and bringing you a celebration of Europe's best pop music instead. We had a ludicrous amount of fun making this episode. Here's to it becoming a new annual tradition! https://www.europeanspodcast.com/all-episodes/summer-playlist-2026 #music #europe

Replying to

@Jazone@theforkiverse.com @QasimRashid@mastodon.social nobody defended Hamas anywhere in this thread, you're the one linking support for Palestinians with support for Hamas

Replying to

@Jazone@theforkiverse.com @QasimRashid@mastodon.social if you think supporting oppressed Palestinians means being pro Hamas, you're welcome to not set foot in Ireland and Spain - since we generally lean that way

So ... We talk about how the world should wean itself off fossil fuels and then we won't really be suffering through oil shocks (plus the planet is burning and we can't afford to keep burning fossil fuels anyway!)

But we can go further ... as John Lennon sang in Imagine

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

@gerrymcgovern I just find myself tuning out of emails and presentations that are obviously AI slop (sometimes the person would proudly admit using AI for it too!). It's amazing how some people get conned into wasting other people's time, all the while thinking they're saving their own time...

@be0ba @gerrymcgovern oh totally. Any usage should be disclosed - I sympathize that some people are /forced/ into using it for fear of losing their jobs for instance - but the minefield of not knowing if something is partly done with AI or not is the worst (I have literally been given suggestions to "just have AI write your report" or "just strip attribution" and my opinion of the person giving it definitely went downhill)
