@lina@eientei.org they're only as optional as the ubiquitous tomboy abs, and sweat comes with it. running sweating and bare midriffs are axiological pillars of the tomboy, short hair and running sneakers come in mere support of these. in contrast, gorls I like may wear short hair and fashionable sneakers because they're comfy and practical, and that axiology of comfy and practical is what I appreciate. I also often catch myself enjoying women integrating menswear into their outfits, which along with short hair gives an air of sophistication; this shows how I'd sooner gravitate towards the "prince" kind of girl rather than a tomboy.
