Invite for a conference that lists “Radical Inclusion” and “Participation” as two of its core principles, whilst one hundred percent of the session chairs are (apparently) able-bodied white men who work at famous US and UK institutions. Well done guys. #manel

Friends! I went on a podcast to talk about how much of a failure I am, and why that’s important to talk about. There’s quite a bit of weird “ivory tower” rhetoric there (the host basically called academics chihuahuas, as opposed to the wolves who have “real” jobs), but If you can see past that, here it is: https://freakonomics.com/podcast/how-to-succeed-at-failing-part-3-grit-vs-quit/

@fraying@xoxo.zone @siderea@universeodon.com Also let’s not forget how Helen Joyce talked about the number of trans people needing to be “kept down” and “the fewer of those people there are the better in the sane world that I hope we will reach” (documented for instance here https://www.discourseblog.com/p/the-terf-mask-is-off ).
