So I got this SFF8643 PCI-e adapter off of Amazon and this is how it came. :picard_facepalm: #homelab
I sweat a lot less when I watch #Coachella from my couch.
In today's edition of people with abhorrent views I never want to hear from again: Rob Schneider and Nick Cannon.
AliExpress order update emails border on DoS attack.
@ElenLeFoll It's only a matter of time until our machines won't accept bills with Trump on them.
We've certainly come a long way from Dr. Sbaitso to #OpenClaw.

@FRYTG I run mine out of OCI but have the Elasticsearch for it at home. I think when/if my cable provider's high-split happens and I have a gigabit upstream, I'd make that move and run more things from home.
All these tax refund sale ads are awfully presumptuous.
The dumbest #spam: a scammer created an open mailing list that probably has hundreds or thousands of people on it and sent a bunch of scammy Apple emails to it. Now there's a flurry of replies that you'd expect of chain letters of old and no intelligence to be found.
I'm up to about 50 emails about this now, I've made an rspam rule to denylist the rcpt to:. I'm still surprised this doesn't happen more often. #homelab
Trump and Musk caused this, make no mistake. This is what happens when you cut critical services to oblivion and create an even more hostile environment for over-stressed workers.
Trying to restore from a #macOS #TimeMachine backup for my stolen work laptop that had 1TB disk to another laptop with 1TB disk. Buuuut the backup in Migration Assistant shows as 1.3TB.
I think this is due to use of Apple's new "container" system that doesn't play well with TM backups. Unfortunately TM is always an afterthought and MA is always a slow, buggy mess even in the best circumstances.
I hope I can get this thing restored before the long holiday weekend ends.
What kind of total moron douchebag would refer to themselves as the goat of anything? https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2026/05/30/trump-headline-great-american-state-fair-after-music-acts-cancel/
Literally the opposite of what everyone wants. Endless reviews and surveys say physical controls are what we’re begging for. #cars #vw #audi #controls

I'm unexpectedly impressed with the #Slate as I'm seeing it now be an actual thing in preview videos being released today. The freedom of choice that they're offering is a refreshing approach for the automotive industry that has traditionally wanted to lock you in to various options and design decisions.
I put in a pre-order on a whim because it seems like a great vehicle for my kids that could take some beating and be left outside without much regret. #cars
Maher’s turn into Dennis Miller is complete. https://variety.com/2026/tv/news/bill-maher-played-by-jd-vance-real-time-hbo-may-vote-republican-2028-1236795870/ #uspol #hbo
I never know where to look while I’m being checked out at the register.
Can we please get rid of this fake president? https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/ms-now-journalists-denied-access-white-house-trump-announced-ban-rcna598677

@brunty@brunty.social switched to Jellyfin when Plex went paid only. Works just as well for my remote streaming of home library usage.

@SecretAntelope@covertcreatures.xyz I remember eating a bunch of the fried ones as a kid and remember in the early-mid 90s when they switched to baked. I haven't had one in a decade or two, but I do think baked is better. The fried ones have a crazy amount of crunch but end up leaving a bunch of flakes everywhere.
I don't think either of them could be construed as healthy regardless.

@hnbot@mastodon.chrispelli.fun "Nothing is safe, nothing is reliable, and I am looking at the extremely real possibility that I am already unemployable if I have to go back on the market."
Damn, that really hits home.
