Mandy (she/her)
mastodon 4.7.3Fiber artist & technical writer full of typos - knitting, spinning, embroidery, sometimes poetry, more. I'm a perpetual weirdo, dabbler, atheist, on the left, writer, aspiring intersectional feminist, fan of eclectic music, bi & bipolar 2. I live in northern Virginia, in the US et je parle un peu de français, mais toujours j'ai des problèmes grammaticals, so I read it much better than I write or speak it.
I try not to toot or boost uncaptioned images, but occasionally one slips past me.
I found it finally @welshpixie@mastodon.art and @joybooster@beige.party - the uterus with the googly eyes, but I was wrong about the position of the eyes - ovaries as grabby hands is way better.
I'm not sure what's going on in Eevee-land that makes the steps an attractive, safe place for her to nap. Someone - Jeff or Lola - marked the stone chimney for our gas fireplace (currently disconnected) in the family room this morning. Sigh. Cat politics.
My native honeysuckle vine (lonicera sempervirens) has buds and blooms all over it and (hopefully) it will be like this the rest of the spring, all summer and fall, to the last frost.

I'm still working on the Embroidered Mixtape and took a 24 second time-lapse video of about 45 minutes of work embroidering one line of a lyric using couching stitch. https://youtube.com/shorts/r8PulbUnKso?is=qgwaRDh0DvaLeUwx #Embroidery
The hat that I couldn't stop looking at last summer jumped into my shopping cart last night along with a smaller one that will hopefully take up less space on our trip at the end of May. If the trip actually happens.
@MariaLiv@toot.io Thank you so much for this reminder! One of my college friends who's active on Facebook only (he's a weirdo), reminds me often that "Your outrage is being monetized" and I see it now in a new dimension.
It's the perfect day to play soccer/football here today! It's breezy and 60° F, partly cloudy. Suddenly wishing I had kept up with that, I played in the days when shin-guards weren't required.
Tonight is the perfecy night to rewatch Wim Wender's Until The End of the World (1991). And that is what I'm doing.
Listening to Christine and the Queens (and more, but this a few times on repeat): https://youtu.be/ZzFYmz2lfT4?si=54L4AbkhW3reoTCa
@MariaLiv@toot.io Oh hey, also: I'm very sorry that's learned from experience; I have my own expertise with that around SA.
Oh, NPR I love you (I really really do) but I remember now why I stopped listening 24x7: it's bleak.
