when I say that the IMSAI 8080 PSU has "soda can sized caps", I'm not joking

It is not recommended for bunnies to have at most one (1) problem.
when you give a bunny 6-7 problems at the same time, they get pushed up into their ears and can cause unexpected behaviour

I just personally program for the fun of it and i do not need LLMs involved in the process. Do not tell me what it is practical or cool for, i do not care :)

@Rairii I mean, I know that, but I was encouraged to use it over vscode as it was supposedly stripped of invasive stuff like this.
(and only encouraged in the first place as I was using some ancient windows-only shareware editor before that and to please please try something more modern, lol :D)

@brouhaha @fae fairly confident that one of the I/O ports was wired up for a parallel keyboard due to the character terminal card installed, but this thing came with neither the keyboard or disk drive, and I have since tried to re-wire the I/O card (I might still have pics of the original config somewhere, but like... good luck finding the right keyboard. i'll just talk to it over serial, somewhere down the line, probably)

@DelilahTech it is however really fun/cool to see the IEC LED light up without any drive activity :D sometimes people get up to shenanigans with the 1541(diskdrive)'s 6502 and 4kB RAM

@DelilahTech the two push buttons are for machine reset and IEC/serial reset, and the keylock used to be connected to the halt/gnd pins on the 6510 so it would actually lock/halt the machine/cpu, but it's not currently connected.

@brouhaha pretty sure this is all factory. It's also the PSU-C, Rev 1, the very first one they did.
I think a few months in they changed a bunch of the design, including replacing the transformer to one that can be wired for many different input voltages, though the caps were all wired from the top, exposed, so a little more dangerous :)

closest I found so far is this, which ticks almost every box except for the outlet being schuko -- i'd need a passive adapter for US plug outlet, which is ok but not ideal
