Our art does not have alt text because we are too disabled to have the energy to both draw something and describe it in as much detail as is needed. It is tagged as "#noalt" so those who need alt text can filter it out.

< Raven > Saw something online that had me saying, out loud, "Thanks, internet, I don't know what that means!" and now I'm just gonna say that whenever I see something with a lot of internet jargon or DNI if [cryptic acronym] or whatever.
< Raven > Victory: all my roommates agree with me that I look like an attractive 1960s rock star (Syd Barrett) that I absolutely look like IRL
< Seth > Is it acceptable to tell someone "hey, I think you're pissing on the poor right now" if they're suffering from bad reading comprehension on your post? Does that sound too sarcastic, or do we consider "piss on the poor" to be a general part of vocabulary at this point and not just a meme reference? Is "hey, I think you're interpreting me in bad faith" any better or is that too much of an accusation?
< Raven > I recently made the breakthrough realization that, since weed is a plant and plantkin is an established thing, you can potentially be plantkin with weed. Much to consider.
< Trevor > A few rules of life I've learned from living it:
- You are responsible for yourself.
- You are not responsible for other people's stupidity nor other people in general.
- You ARE responsible for your responses to other people's stupidity.
< Raven > I was talking in therapy recently about how I feel like I don't fit in anywhere, and how I used to know this person who felt the same but they felt like they had to fit in and could never be comfortable if they didn't. I feel really bad for that person. I don't know what I'd do if I felt I had to fit in to belong in a space. I don't even fit in in my own Discord servers, but that doesn't mean I don't belong in them.
< Raven > People I've only met this year are sending me things with rats and hamsters and other rodents. I love that this is who I am. Yes, I am the rodent guy.
< Trevor > Sorry I haven't been talking about very pleasant topics lately. The main thing I've been focused on is running my Discord servers, and not only is that its own social media that I tend to have more fun on than Fediverse, I dislike talking too much about it on social media because it feels like I'm publicly gossiping about the people around me, and I don't like that.
< Trevor > I think the problem with constantly being in shitty situations is that it colors your expectations for things to be shitty, and while it's totally reasonable for someone to expect life to carry on much as it has before (especially if the shitty situations are caused by factors like marginalization or poverty), and therefore expect things to constantly be shitty, they have to understand that expecting things to be constantly shitty all the time no matter what with no exceptions IS a cognitive distortion, one that is very easy to fall into, and lends to negativity that isn't good for them.
I say this as someone who used to have this problem, but it is VERY hard to tell people that, even though their negativity is caused by legitimate factors from their actual life, it isn't good for them and they can't hang onto it or make it a way of life.
