Llafgorf

A land mark has gone! The old stone barn, at the top of the hill between Crosland Heath golf club, and the old fireworks factory, has just been demolished. #Huddersfield #Golcar #ColneValley

A simple and elegant experiment - well executed, and clearly written-up. The evidence for nuclear effects, within metal lattices, following the absorption of hydrogen atoms, has long been argued about. n.b. "Hydrogen embrittlement" is still not understood. As the researchers note, getting evidence for this type of activity is usually difficult (or impossible), using most of the other “radiation detection methods” used in the lab. But use the right method, and here it is - for all to see.

Colne Valley Railway Modifications consultation. If you missed the Slaithwaite session on Tuesday, there is another, tomorrow, in Marsden. Proposal documents here: https://www.smart-rail.co.uk/?p=2696

@pedestrians1st@mastodon.online Because it is a false dichotomy - and objectively untrue. Yes, lots of groups were there who call themselves "left wing", but there were plenty who regard themselves as politically neutral (such as faith groups). The organisers deliberately didn't say "only left wingers please". It was everybody together, against the far right. https://www.togetheralliance.org.uk/
