Currently requires tech knowledge/isn’t seamless (and getting it there will be a big challenge) but this is a great start and a very good step in the right direction.

Lots of love to @eugen and the dev team :)
@aral@mastodon.social @aral@mastodon.ar.al @eugen@mastodon.social So will you want to open it to the public or do you think every user (or small group) should have its own instance? mastodon.network
Open post Leo Laporte @leo@mastodon.network · 115mo ago Replying to @aral@mastodon.social @leo@mastodon.network No, I have no interest in curating a community. I’d love to see federation/decentralisation at the scale of one. Where the community becomes the social graph between the instances :) + @aral@mastodon.ar.al @Gargron@mastodon.social @aral@mastodon.social @aral@mastodon.ar.al @Gargron@mastodon.social Interesting idea. Does that create a lot of overhead for the Federation? I have docker support on my Synology NAS and I'm sure it has enough oomph to run an instance of one (or, say, a family). mastodon.network

Probably not - I don't think brand spamming is a good idea for mastodon. mastodon.network

Peer to the rest of the network. You'd have instance admin and stuff, but no need to accept rabble such as, say, myself. @dredmorbius@mastodon.cloud @aral@mastodon.social @aral@mastodon.ar.al But we'd want rabble like you! mastodon.network

I can only imagine having to log in and out of multiple instances much less keep track of them. This is google's problem with multiple accounts now and sounds like the early days of android. Would it be possible to manage all instances in one place? @will@mastodon.network @aral@mastodon.ar.al @aral@mastodon.social @dredmorbius@mastodon.cloud If that becomes an issue for you (similar to multiple email addresses) just make sure to create only one OSStatus account. mastodon.network
