Looking for advice on a laptop failure:
Anyone with a thinkpad x240 ever ran into an issue where the LCD backlight works fine but the actual matrix itself slowly goes from pure black to pure white as the computer boots normally otherwise? I've already tried to disconnect and reconnect the internal LCD cable, to no effect.
Is this an LCD failure or a GPU failure?
This machine is of retirement age, to me. It has served me for about a quarter of my life. It is about as well worn as a laptop can get. Bent hinges, re-glued shell, swapped keyboard, swapped trackpad.. I've already repaired it about a dozen times at this point.
Which is why I'm on the fence about repairing it it in the first place.
I am very bummed about losing this computer, but i would also be very excited about getting an MNT reform..
