Boss in Teams work group chat today (my day off): Team, I was just informed that the first shift [my shift] will be working 12 hours for the rest of the remainder of the month. Please adjust your schedule accordingly. The expected hours are 5am to 5pm. Weekends have yet to be determined [we are already working every day this month with no weekend shift].

Me: [Stanley from the office .gif] And they are paying us time and a half for the duration of the request ?!!

Me: Seriously give me something. I was hired for 40 hours, and at this point I don't think [employer] ever intended to only work me that much since I have zero weeks at 40 hours worked.

Boss: So are you filling out a timecard?

Me: I mean I am.

Me: I'll be there tomorrow.

Boss: Are you putting all your time in, not just 40 hrs. I want to make sure you are at least getting your hourly rate for hours over 40.

Me: I have put in a timecard ever since my first week (which was also over 40 hours)mand every one is over 40 hours.

Boss: Ok, first I just wanted to make sure you were getting paid.

Me: If [employer] wants to make more profit by destroying my personal life they need to pay me better than straight time overtime [multiple ‼️ reacts]

Boss: This is not ideal by any shape. I get where you are coming from. My feet are killing me. I haven't been this tired since finals week in college. All we can hope for is that this changes in October.

Boss: We can talk about this tomorrow offline.

Me: Ok [precedes to gather all non-management people in this group chat's phone numbers to make an iMessage group]

Me: That's more like it!

The greatest thing I'm going to do for this place is not doing things immediately.

• I first ask what do we need to do
• Then I ask why we need to do it
• Then I say give me a minute to make sure that's a good idea

Half the time this happens, maybe takes 5 or 10 minutes. We (and a lot of the time it's not only me) figure out we should do something different. So much time pressure here is forcing dumb costly mistakes all the time.

I was named MVP on my run team for the past year! I'm so happy!

Apparently all the tall women come to Aldi at 17:30 on Wednesday. Me and at least 4 other women at or above 180cm (5'11") shopping.

It's not fair when my 4yo and 7yo are encouraged and played with when they became cat-people but when I do it it's "difficult", "weird", and "annoying". /lh

I feel the need to be even gayer than I already am.

So I was at my run team anniversary dinner tonight with my run team friends. And two interesting things happened. First I won MVP for the past year (there's another past for that). The second one is I was talking in a small group with a new person who joined a few months ago. I end up telling a story which involves somewhat importantly that I had a bare chest with my school's logo written on it. And this new person, I see it in her face. She had no idea I was trans until that moment. And I had ran with her at least four times in the past two months. She did look at me for a little bit (trying to clock me i guess) too intently afterwards too (which was a bit awkward).

But I feel that run practice is a very difficult environment to be read as a woman for me. But apparently I'm doing it.

Oh... I guess a third thing too. I wore these leggings (these cute ones that are supposed to be capris, but go just below my knee) shorts with a lot of confidence. And avoided any sort of bulge that would have triggered any dysphoria (which is any bulge at all really).

Such a happy day for me!

Shout out to the 6th grader at my kids elementary school who opens car doors in the morning and says "Happy Tuesday" to me every day of the week. I get you so much.

Also shout out to the other 6th grader that started telling me "Happy Thursday" whenever day they open the car door. Need more people like you out there.
