#introduction

Been working in the DevOps/SRE space for over a decade now. Presently at The Pokemon Company International (no, not Nintendo. No, not Niantic :P) and loving every single moment of it! I've got a passion for building awesome teams and helping to usher in new technology in a scalable and secure manner to help developers learn to love their lives a little bit more :D Interests include gaming (huge Overwatch nerd), weekend hikes, soccer, and cats. Looking forward to connecting!

Any iOS clients for Mastodon that keep in sync with notifications you've checked on another client? (e.g. I've checked a notification on browser and no longer want the notification on my phone)

#caturday Jude had a vet appointment today. He was very pleased, clearly. Guess who has to go back for a dental cleaning in a month too? 😩

I'll also openly admit I'm learning a LOT about how this wonderful place works and it's the first time in a long time I've been excited and engaged in learning a new technology and thing surrounding it. I just worry that if we don't pay attention, the powers folks think we "own" will actually just be used the same to exacerbate problematic viewpoints like antisemitism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. under the radar of people who actively try to fight against it. Silence != nonexistence

Lastly, I've seen a few anti-journalism posts. While I get this place will hopefully not devolve into sensationalism and mainstream doom scrolling I'm concerned around people pushing against legit journalists doing investigation into a phenomenon and keeping pulse on things I mentioned above. If we don't want to see it on our feed, I do hope at least *someone* is aggregating and paying attention to it. I hope there's some happy medium we can establish with journalists to keep tabs.
