I have participated in two prompt hacking competitions (HackAPrompt and Gandalf). The way Chat GPT can be tricked by prompts as small as a single word (tldr) should immediately shut down any discourse about these systems being sentient. They are promising tools trained to complete the input in a plausible way. No less, and no more. #nlp #nlproc #ai #AIhype

I am not sure that everyone gets that RLHF is a form of supervised learning.
RLHF does not work without human labels (preferences) nor human curated training samples.
