I teach my law students that law’s most important purpose to address anger, where possible, in a socially functional way. The social media reaction to a cold blooded first degree murder suggests laws governing health care are not performing that task adequately.

And yes, I get that "extremist" is supposed to differentiate from other Muslims. But it in fact does not do that.

I haven't had a moment to say this yet, but:
Louisiana v. Callais is the worst Supreme Court decision since Plessy.
With the Court's record under C.J. Roberts (Dobbs, Shelby Co., Bruen, Citizens United), that's saying a lot.
The Court has returned us to the era of formal equality only -- even in the most basic right, to vote.
It has restored Jim Crow, on the basis that, trust the six conservatives, they know better than the People or Congress whether the legacy of slavery is over.

"Haiti has been under a national state of emergency since March 2024. This state of emergency remains in effect."

People are saying that David Barton is a liar. So of course Texas’s GOP hired him as a consultant on whether the country was founded as a Christian nation. Jefferson rolling over in his grave.
