Tried to watch the new Jack Ryan movie but DNF'd. I know I cry "AI!" whenever something kind of sucks, but this really was bad in an "AI" way. Lots of overdramatic, kind of nonsensical dialog that sounds vaguely like something Jack would say, but doesn't quite mean anything. This timeline is so dumb.
Wow, really enjoyed Japanese Gothic by Kylie Lee Baker. Beautifully, hauntingly written. #amreading #amreadinghorror #horror #HorrorBooks
I have no idea where the camera is on Radiator Springs, so this is the face you get, I guess! #disneyland #radiatorsprings #californiaadventurepark

Okay, I looked it up, and #Eurovision mandates that all songs are written by humans, so, that's great, and I apologize to any humans I assumed were AI 😅

For the next couple of days, I have Princess Bride, Goonies, and Tron still to come

Great book, btw. Sometimes the books of your childhood don't age super well, but Pet Semetary was as great and terrifying and heartbreaking as it was in the 80s. More so, really, because I'm sure I lacked the emotional maturity to really get it back then.
Upon this rewatch of Princess Bride, I'm realizing just how bad Wesley's mustache is. They trimmed too much off the right side, so it's lopsided. I was so embarrassed for him! (The movie is otherwise perfect, no notes)

@nicegnome@social.horrorhub.club That's very cool! I'm so bad about reading outside my comfort zone!
Happy fake jet lag day for those who celebrate! 🥱😴

I'm honestly just happy gen Z has heard of it at all (and liked it! Despite not knowing the name 😂)

P.S. There's always *actually* enough dirt. That line is a great metaphor, but it's total rubbish 😂

@nicegnome@social.horrorhub.club @mookie Yeah, two parts Disneyland, one part California Adventure. The perfect Disney ratio 😄

@afb@mastodonapp.uk Yeah this is my first of hers, and I'll definitely read more now. Really talented writer!

Also at the end of each episode, Disney+ is like "Hey, if you like this, you should try Scrubs season 1," and I'm like, "THAT'S WHAT I'M WATCHING DISNEY!"

@danyoder@mastodon.social That's how my reading list is. It's basically LIFO, with an ever growing stack...

@jasonkarns@indieweb.social I did, yeah, I loved it. I think all the time about that scene where he whispers about hating when people whisper in shows 😂
Aw man, the #Buffy reboot got cancelled?
Two things I really want from a music streaming service:
- An actually random sort, no weighting. If I'm shuffling my own playlist, I want to listen to all of it. The stupid weighting algorithm is self-fulfilling. I listen to the first n songs, which adds weight to them, so next time I listen, those pop up first, weighting them more, and I never hear the rest.)
- Relatedly, remember the shuffle order of the last playlist I listened to. Don't reshuffle every time I get in the car.
