Setting up a Mac Mini as a Plex / Backup Server plus … torrent client. Is it worth going with private trackers these days? Mainly more paranoid about security as I thought I’d login with my Apple account to that machine. Or maybe I should try making docker containers just to be overkill levels of security theatre.
@decryption@aus.social Having a kobo + two different library cards is so nice for being able to read way more than I usually would.
@decryption@aus.social Yeah I have this and was resigned to just getting another or the 4K one. Hooray for more 5K displays.

@decryption@aus.social I literally use pirated srt’s to solve this, ha.
@bjango@mastodon.social Hi there - suddenly only seeing 5 days of forecasts with Willy Weather / BOM selected. Is this the new limitation with this provider? I’d prefer to only use the BOM for weather data.
@decryption@aus.social if it makes you feel better - I saw it in 70mm but found the flickering too distracting! So the big TV style of the Onyx might have been a solid choice.
@decryption@aus.social even though the actual quality of the telephoto is rough in low light that reach is just too good to give up, even just for the composition options it unlocks.
Thank god we have a more affordable 5K monitor available in Australia again. Cannot stomach even one studio display for the price let alone the two I’d want.
@decryption@aus.social I would definitely miss the 5x lens though.
@decryption@aus.social I’m mostly just sad at the huge gulf between a good 4K display ($800 AUD) and Apple’s 5K display ($3000 AUD with high adjustable stand). Feels especially rich since we used it get it for “free” with an entry level 27 inch iMac.
@decryption@aus.social on a similar note, where I’m working switched to 4K 27 inch display scaled to 1440p and … it’s fine? I’ve always been hardline 1x or retina only but it looks nicer than my 1440p monitor even with Better Display on.
@joshzepeda@mastodon.social @overcastfm@mastodon.social I have to 2nd OPML import. Pretty much halted my willingness to try and switch.
Love that basically all the good Oppenheimer seats for its first evening session were sold out within 20 mins of IMAX Sydney’s website launching.
