👨‍🦯 Heyhoo! I am an accessibility specialist, mainly consulting public and private sector organisations on digital accessibility through my cofounded consultancy Ligipääsuke. I also find myself as a president of Estonian Blind Union. Theres the audio geekery, I definitely prefer fieldrecordings to photos. Good food, thats anything but olives makes my day and if a nearby piano is paired with enough pressure by people, I even may play a few tunes.

A quick reminder, I did create an accessible #ArtemisII #Artemis2 mission tracker for myself, and apparently its deemed useful by others as well. Includes spacecraft speed, distance, also represented by an audio sonification, spacecraft telemetry by calculated moon and earth size as seen from the spacecraft and lots of more details. Just added bunch of details from the @@cdnspace @mstdn.ca api, including antenna and solar panel positions of the craft. Check it out. https://artemis-tracker.netlify.app/

Due to my #Artemis2 tracker being overloy popular, I spent past few hours migrating the site to a new server. The mission can be now tracked at https://artemis.jakobrosin.com/ no worries, the old links redirect you to the new mission central as well.

I've just added a few updates to my #Artemis live tracker. It now has a section showing the current, past and upcoming space weather. The live data is now actually live, now that tnasa as sorted its issues with public telemetry. The live data has explainers on different data points, and also includes information on how much of artemis is in sunlight when viewed from earth. The mission timeline has more granularity with detailed explanations. The audio radar calculates the real position of Orion in space, between earth and moon. And a few more things. https://artemis-tracker.netlify.app/ #space #spaceflight #Nasa

Just had bunch of teenagers walk by our house, with a huge ass portable speaker blasting one of them scrolling tiktok. I mean, I could try to justify at least somewhat being obnoxiously loud with listening to music together, but blasting tiktok slop all over the neighborhood is a new for me.

RE: https://allovertheplace.ca/@DavidGoldfield/116391212279050712 This is one of the reasons I am quite frustrated about Anthropic blocking access to tools like OmenClaw. I've been using OpenClaw for a while to do exactly that. It helped me manage content on websites, which have a user interface that is rather inaccessible, helping me to describe pictures, sort information, and all context-sensitive because it has a lot of memory and context of what I do and what are my needs. Now that OpenClaw is blocked on Anthropic systems, I need to just use weaker models, which are a bit more stupid. It has definitely regressed in accessibility for me. I understand that a lot of people are frustrated with OpenClaw because people are using it for mining bitcoins and doing crypto bullshit, but I have been using it for genuinely helping me to work and overcome accessibility barriers. The fact that it's now regressed,is hopefully temporary until Anthropic gets their systems sorted out or somebody invents a workaround or a new, better product. Sadly, this is the world of AI we are living in.

Have just fixed a bug on my artemis tracker, where the live data trend graphs showed data across last 2 hours,, while it wasn't across last 2 hours. No wit shows the correct historical data timespan. Apologies for that. Spaceflight is a tricky business.

@robin@kipp.social absolutely. Will look into this. The mission timelikne is a tricky one. Nasa actually doesn't give out whats actually going on right now, so I'm winging it based on the static timeline they have posted. So far its worked quite well.

Great. I can now bypass the oddities claude code implies in terminal. Wrote a connector whic enables me to chat with claude code in slack. Way more accessible, and works crossplatform too!

@JonathanMosen it could be also worth checking out one of tose iOs shortcuts describing images. ON the bonus side, you can tweak the prompt so the AI can be aware of the mission. I've mapped mine for triple tapping the screen, which is when it takes a screenshot and comes back with a description. https://www.applevis.com/forum/ios-ipados/yet-another-shortcut-make-getting-descriptions-screenshots-easy

@zersiax @DavidGoldfield Basically, yes, there is an OpenClaw Chrome extension which was able to use the browser and click around. It also used web scraping in some situations, but for example with WordPress it just used the WordPress REST API for giving the commands directly. It very much depended on what tool you were using. Because I had created itself a Google account and it had its own Google Drive, which had then folders shared to my actual Google Drive so that it wouldn't hijack my actual contents, I could just paste files into its Google Drive and then have it retrieve them and do whatever it needed. For example, with web, for example checking into flights, you could just give it the flight number and it either used a headless Chrome browser or the Chrome extension to perform the check-in. It actually worked very, very well. With Anthropic blocking access, it hasn't directly blocked it. As you say, it uses the extra usage credits, but because sometimes OpenClaw can be very, very heavy on using the tokens, it becomes way more expensive than the subscription model, which I think is fair because a lot of people were overusing the system. I'm sure there's some optimization I could do, and I definitely would need to look into that at some point. Right now it was just frustrating because a great tool I was using just became less great.

@klittle667 I am honestly right now doing an experiment in migrating all the memories and context files into Claude code, because Claude code should be able to do most of the things, at least what I did. I didn't really do any of the proactive or time-based heartbeat stuff. What I want is essentially for it to be able to do things that I tell it in the chat, and Claude code should be doing this. I'm right now trying to migrate stuff over and see how well that would work.

@klittle667 By the way, to try to save costs a bit, you could try to set it up with the GPT codex. This would use your subscription pricing, not the API token-based pricing, so technically you should be able to control the costs a bit more while using a little bit better models.

@cdnspace This is most likely not ada compliant, I have just coded it mostly for myself, and for my personal needs, fixing issues as I notice them. :) My goal was to build it so that a screen reader reads it in an understandable and logical manner. Thank you so much for providing the data. If there is a better way I could credit you, do let me know, currently I try to mention the source near the specific cardsas well as my sources list linked in the footer.

@EdenLinnea It is basically an AI agent support system which has a comprehensive memory system and the possibility to interact with your AI agent through a lot of different channels like WhatsApp or iMessage or Slack or Discord or Telegram. It lives as a server on your computer. It has a very extensive memory system, lots of skills, and it can act on its own based on the instructions you've given, for example:

  • parse websites
  • gather information
  • write code, create new software, use any other software
  • control your house

The reason its use was limited is that it uses a lot of tokens, and Anthropic is not very happy about it using that many tokens for their subscription plan. They switched everybody on the API plan where you pay per use, but since the usage is so high, it became like 6x times more expensive for a lot of people.

@klittle667 I just sent it an image of our garden. Instead of describing it according to my image description skill, it cheerily refered to our earlier chat about food, and said that this definitely is a decent meal. On opus, I could.throw images at it, it ran them through my image describer, and if it fit, adapted its reply to the current context or just described it.

My powerbank, an Anker prime 27 k 240 w powerbank, has an app to monitor its charge level and change some settings. Since it exists, I might as well use it. It comes in handy when its charging to see the charge level, or when its powering a bluetooth speaker, and I am physically away, to check should I top it up. Anyways, the app, as you could already predict for a powerbank app, is terrible. First, it requires an account. OK, harvest my charge data all you want. However, the account token expires. Now, a powerbank app isn\t something you open daily. I open it once a month at best. Which means every time I want to actually use the app, it asks me to log in again. Then, it has forgotten the pairing to the bank. Then, it wants me to agree with terms and conditions. have you noticed a commonality with terms and conditions screens? In most of them, the agree / disagree checkbox, slider, button, radio button or whatever control is completely inaccessible. So, my pwerbank has an app. Thats about all good I can say about the fact.

@klittle667 I switched mine from using Claude Opus 4.6 to using GPT 5.4, and it's clearly stupider. I have to tell it a lot more what to do and to try better. When it was using Opus, it just figured stuff out and did things. For example, it took me just two sentences for it to check me into a flight. I just gave it a number and my name, and it came back with which seat I wanted, and then after that it just sent me the boarding pass. I haven't tried this with the GPT, but I am afraid this would just break, so I am quite annoyed because it was truly helpful and helped me to concentrate on work rather than navigating around accessibility barriers.
