Vibe-coding for a couple months:
1. Coding platforms/plugins like Roo Code and Claude Code can handle project-level assessments and basic scaffolding fairly well
2. It will overbuild whenever it can and will never understand your intent properly
3. Don’t give it access to do anything automatically . Check each action/command unless you want trouble
4. You will spend a lot of time undoing things over and over
5. It can be prohibitively expensive for the hobbyist dev
6. Learn to code
Started coding an old/new school BBS software package in Go a few weeks ago.
It's FAR from complete, but I'm excited about the progress/learnings. JAM bases, echomail, python3 integration, DOSemu2 support outta-da-box
So excited to read issue 1 of the new Heavy Metal magazine
Batch 1 of the all new Commodore 64 Ultimate is 25,000 units (being manufactured).
Are we going to see a new software cycle, or just rehash of nostalgic .d64’s?
I’d love to see a lightweight BBS system, maybe a renewed C-Net or C*Base or something that runs out of the box on the Ultimate with its networking… Maybe even Image 3? There is a C*Base modded version that runs on the Ultimate.

The state of passwords on the web really sucks. I now have 3 pop-overs when I need to enter one: OS X, Chrome and my PW manager. And none of them have the correct password (that’s a me problem, I know).
What’s the mass adoption solution for auth that we need to transition to?
