I stared at them stone faced and said “I’m dead serious. If you make a dumb choice, it’s gonna cost you a LOT of money for me to come back and clean up ” They stared at me for an uncomfortably long time, not knowing what to do before saying “ok. Your comment is noted” and I walked out and went back to work.

@futurebird @joelvanderwerf @not2b the Delaware Water Gap (N. Jersey/PA border) is pretty close to NYC, and really breathtaking (although, I haven’t been since the 90’s. I hope it hasn’t changed much) I used to be stationed down in the Pine Barrens!! 😍 and have spent a lot of time camping and exploring nature down there. It’s the furthest north area along the east coast where you can find lizards in the summer(!!!) I have a real soft spot for Wharton State Forest and the rivers and canoeing down there

@mcnado I think that’s giving them too much credit. This, of course, IS a perfect time for them to look at the evidence and do some serious soul searching, and acknowledge what went wrong. But my bet is instead on a new Satanic Panic arising from their ranks. A shiny-oh-so-evil cat toy for them to pour all their attention into and chase down. And they can pretend like Trump never happened! That’s a better alternative than them having to face the truth, that they were 100% deceived by the literal-Antichrist… despite so much of their teaching that warned them to stay vigilant against it. But they did…. They failed God’s test. And they WILL NOT accept that!

However, the executives at the top are staggeringly stupid and still think AI can do anything (despite mountains of evidence to the contrary) and an employees unique qualifications are meaningless. My warning shot across the bow was to the level of management who kiss the asses of executives, but still understand how our industry works. Not everyone can pull off this stunt. But those of us who work in areas of tech and CAN confidently make this stand MUST for all tech workers everywhere.
