The larger context: over the last 9 months I have been involved in 'The Extreme Wealth Line Initiative', that tries to take steps to empirically develop the concept of an extreme wealth line (this falls under 'co-creation', right??). Our ultimate goals is to construct a widely endorsed Extreme Wealth Line that plays the same societal role as the World Bank's Extreme Poverty Line; this is one step on that long and most likely thorny path.

Heel herkenbaar stuk van Michael Merry over discriminatie en ongewenst gedrag aan de Nederlandse universiteiten. De korte samenvatting van mijn analyse is: zolang onze universiteiten zo hiërarchisch zijn, en er zo weinig (vaak: geen) interne democratie is, wordt dit probleem niet voldoende opgelost. Hiërarchie faciliteert macht, en te grote en persistente machtsverschillen zijn de voedingsbodem van ongewenst gedrag.
