Text Adventure author working on Cyberganked: a CRPG / text adventure.
Previously made text adventures like Cryptozookeeper and Necrotic Drift, Fallacy of Dawn.
I also post about retro computers I'm getting into Eurorack &synthesizers, and collect 1980s arcade machines.
I tried to reinstall mIRC after not having it on this PC forever, and my key didn't work. I got it in 2010. It was just $14 to get another one and, ya know - fine. In fact, I think "the key is good for 10 years" or 15 years ought to be a thing. Something between subscription, a year, a three-year deal and then lifetime. I am now a proponent of 10 year licenses for apps. (But for digitally purchased games, I got a backlog over here.)
AXS and Ticketmaster do not get nearly enough abuse for their Severity 1, Highest Priority, most Obvious Bug of All-Time (that must just be 'how they want it' by now) where the ticket you buy doesn't show up in their app after you buy it. I'd waterboard myself with dishwater out of shame if I ever worked on a project with something that bad and obvious being that way for years.

I lived in a house with the arcade version for five years, so the greatest thing the Saturn offers to me is being able to easily mute the music for the attract screen without needing a screwdriver to adjust a pot
Collin has been updating rosters for the Playstation 2 version of MVP Baseball 2005 and he has just updated again on his github page for the project:
Brian Colin has a Kickstarter for a new game that he is working on. He is the creator behind Arch Rivals, Xenophobe, Zwackery, Rampage and General Chaos. I met him at the Midwest Gaming Classic in 2019 and he is a genuine, nice, funny and down to earth guy. I wish the best for him. I don't back anything any more, but I backed this.

Some side thoughts
I'm waiting on a digital artist making an "album cover" and then I hope to have another release of music, 10-12 songs, to Spotify, Apple, etc.
I'm trying to make dumb little PCjr native games by porting simple stuff and I encountered the same "venetian blinds" problem real games had when they didn't treat the 16KB of video RAM correctly, luckily I'm aware of the issue.
78% can try, but it will never make me not get PS5 Wolverine, bub.
New IF terps make me happy.
I have reached the point in the exploration of Eurorack modules that this link to a uranium-based CV generator seems like a good idea.
The cost is more than I can justify, but my searches indicate that it takes a lot more uranium to make you sick than I would have guessed.
I wore British Knights sneakers in the 1990s. I stopped only because I didn't see them in stores. (The mall specifically.)
Well, I found new pairs through eBay. After learning about new old stock sneakers disintegrating through hydrolysis, I confirmed that they were newly made and not from the past, and I bought them. It does appear BK I love them.
The next gen of my hearing device is getting released, and I have one that we are trying to pair with the app. My wife works for the company that makes them, so she has been regularly asking for my hearing device to try to see if the app works. Which is fine, but it is also a bit like having a handicap where you have a hook for a hand and being married to "The Fisherman" from "I Know What You Did Last Summer."
Here is a little acid-inspired track that I have been working on, featuring some samples that should sound familiar to many who threw sticks of dynamite and punctured voodoo dolls at enemies in the late 1990s.

I think there have been CRPGs where you encounter another party that has been trying to "advance" in the game world like yours. I'm using Daz3D (or hired actors) for all characters and Daz3D has a lot of clothes and accessories that you can buy and use in a hodge podge, to make opponents look like how your party might. #CRPG
Release #2 of exoIF is out! Now over 2000 games.
https://www.retro-exo.com/if.html
"This pack includes 2332 individual titles, with multiple ports for each title. Over 50 platforms are represented here, from early mainframes to modern browser-based content. The games included are those that are defined as interactive fiction. The definition here being games that use a text parser to control your character versus any kind of direct input."
I'm at my childhood home, going through boxes I left behind when I moved to Colorado. Lots of computer game boxes but also this Ice Cream Cones cereal mini piano featuring Ice Cream Jones. If I can get it to work, this is 100% going to be used in a music track.
Two pitfalls I had trying to get Metal Slug working over Neo-Geo on a MiSTer FPGA:
1) My 512MB card ran out of room and my update_all.sh scripts had been failing. I had never bothered to read its output. 512MB was enough years ago when I started this.
2) Ya want "console" mode for Neo-Geo and the Darksoft ROM set for Metal Slug. I assumed arcade mode.
3) "Mr. Fusion" does a great job imaging an sdcard. Ms. Fusion saves you a step, so I used that. I did have to try various cards.

Really great post on how a CRT monitors works.
My Retron fell recently, and my copy of Super Dodge-Ball for NES shattered. The circuit board was fine, so I bought a glow-in-the-dark Nintendo cartridge shell off Etsy, and I am treated to the glow when I turn lights off each night before bed. Love it.
Ok, I think I'm doing this: the 100 Greatest Games of All-Time. No clickbait. No ads. No benefit at all reallt, except for the content. First 5 or so are up through this link.

I try to keep this feed positive, because negativity and sarcasm tend to take over. My use case is that I get consoles when they're old and rotate their connection to my TV. They can go months before being turned on. So I'd just lose games I bought.
Sony has "leaked" that this is an "accident." Insulting! Guys, we made UI for this on "accident." A dev tripped over his keyboard, ope! The works of Shakespeare also got pushed up.
They money's never enough for these pigs.
Well, this is one of the coolest things.
Muckrake, from the Brutman #PCjr forum, released this package onto the Internet Archive. He patched about 50 games that were not working in 16 color mode for the PCjr.

I have plenty more to say on this later!
I went to raise my pledge on Patreon for a creator, and Patreon is hiding the "edit membership" control unless you just happen to wave your mouse around that area of the screen. Because I know about garbage UX, I figured it out, but... what is going on? What are we doing? What is the goal? How does anyone just figure this out?

To summarize, I am squashing bugs and creating my own music for the game.

Hey, I was on Topic Lords again! Get over here and check it out!
To celebrate the Buffalo Sabres making it to the second round of the NHL Playoffs, I shall be giving a firm but friendly slewfoot to the 5 animals in the house. The chief challenges for this are:
1. No ice surface
2. 2 extra feet
Here's to a clean series, Buffalo fans are playing with house money. Also the draft lottery is a stupid and pointless sham. #HNOM
@landelare@mastodon.gamedev.place The Patreon product management team being the shared, smoky hallucination of whatever black mold logs got thrown onto a pyre makes a lot of sense, ty 😀
