Computers often literally always do what you said, not what you meant.

My stuff is only accessible from my LAN (because I haven’t figured out how to set up a tunnel or reverse proxy yet).

Spreading out like that was a deliberate choice on the part of American city planners. It was an unnatural experiment that failed, and which can and should be undone.

No, I’m suggesting zoning law reform. Right now, it is very often literally illegal to build in a sustainable way, and that has to stop.

Have you looked at an electronics store recently?
It’s “oops, all bugs!”
AFAIK you can’t even get a dumb Sceptre (which for several years were the last holdout) anymore!

a woman from Sri Lanka (or some other country that’s not exactly known for their arian people)
You might be surprised.
(“Aryan” didn’t originally mean what the Nazis wanted it to mean. Like the swastika and a bunch of other stuff, it was stolen and twisted to suit their purposes.)

But why won’t any other country do it either? Or are these ads only displaying to US IP addresses?

You might be surprised at how much pent-up demand for density there is in the inner suburbs (the ones old enough to still have been built on a reasonable grid system instead of cul-de-sacs).

The odds of finding a 4K 50"+ dumb TV (which is what it would take to be better than the 15-year-old but pretty high-end at the time 1080P 47" dumb TV I already have) at a thrift store seems… unlikely.
More to the point, it does absolutely nothing to refute my point that dumb TVs are entirely unavailable new at retail.

Last I checked (which, admittedly, was a few years ago) I literally couldn’t find any security cameras that weren’t compromised in some way. The only options are basically:
Consumer models tied to “cloud” services
Generic Chinese ONVIF cameras that probably phone home to who knows where unless you firewall them off from the Internet
ONVIF cameras that might have a slightly better reputation than the previous category but are only sold through security system installers, not normal retail channels
Analog (not IP) cameras that you hook up via coaxial cable
Building your own goddamn camera from scratch with a Raspberry Pi or something
It’s ridiculous!
For TVs, there used to be the option of Sceptre dumb TVs, but even those have disappeared from the market in the last year or so.
I’ve been looking for a smartwatch/fitness tracker (and a bike computer, which is kind of a similar category) and the pickings seem very slim there, too. There’s the Pebble and the PineTime, which are open but maybe lack some of the sensors one might want in a fitness tracker, and there’s stuff that’s intended to be proprietary but supported by Gadgetbridge (e.g. iGPSPORT bike computers) . There might be others, but I don’t know about them.

No, not “always has been!” Some of us remember the '90s, before the corporations found it and ruined everything.

The reason [Russia] receives critical support is because it’s opposing the US
From your link:
Critical support is supporting something while also being critical of its flaws. It is often used in the context of supporting bourgeois states that fight against imperialism or are under imperialist aggression.
The thing is, Russia is exactly the polar opposite of “supporting bourgois states that fight against imperialism” or being “under imperialist aggression.” Those statements describe states like Ukraine, while Russia is itself also an imperialist aggressor.
You can argue that the US is also bad in that regard, but you sure as Hell can’t argue that Russia is any better. Supporting Russia “critically” (which I’m also not buying, BTW: quite a lot of its support around her is distinctly uncritical) is doing nothing but advocating for trading one oppressing overlord for another.
We’re so clear about it that I don’t even understand how you could possibly think we support Russia because we think it’s still socialist?
Thinking that maybe you were still somehow confused about Russia being communist was being charitable – giving you the benefit of the doubt. If you’re saying that y’all knowingly support fascists, that just makes you irredeemably terrible people.

How are such images not automatically fraud? The whole point of images in a sales listing is to show you what the product is like; they’re either real and accurate or fake and deceptive.

OBD1 is fine if you know how to deal with it.
You should tell that to the multiple mechanics that have just flat-out refused to work on my '94 Toyota because it isn’t OBD2.

It evaporates. They could cool it back down and reuse it, but that would increase costs even more and corporations like money.
Also, “but it remains part of the water cycle” is irrelevant. Of fucking course it does; we’re not talking about nuclear fusion here! But what matters isn’t how much water exists, it’s how much usable water exists and when it evaporates it stops being usable.

It was originally the RS-71, for “reconnaissance/strike”. (source)
Also, don’t forget about the closely-related YF-12 interceptor.

Nah, Sen. Shit doesn’t give a schmitt. Embarrassment is for people capable of feeling shame; he is more likely reveling in how he was able to demonstrate his dominance by inflicting a blatant lie on the proceedings with impunity.

The SR-71 is the fastest production plane ever made that we know of. If one is being brought out of retirement, my inclination would be to think it’s because something bad happened and they ran out of “Auroras” or whatever even faster black project jet they replaced it with.

OBD1 sucks, though. 1995 through 2010-ish (i.e. OBD2 but no telemetry) is much better.

Vote for the pro-trans Republican instead, obviously! /S
The time to oppose anti-trans Democrats is the primary. In the general election, it’s too late: at that point your choice is an anti-trans Democrat or an anti-trans and otherwise fascist Republican.

The only question that’s valid to have about Talerico on this topic is “is Ken Paxton better, or is he even worse?” The answer is, “no, Ken Paxton is even worse.” If Talerico doesn’t win, Paxton WILL. End of.
For trans Texans, not voting for Talerico in order to keep Paxton out of office is objectively idiotic – it’s basically suicide by spite. That’s just reality, and reality doesn’t give a fuck if you like it or not.

No, because until the dot-com era when “tech bros” first became a thing, a lot of the computing pioneers were leftist/hippie counterculture types. Think MIT AI Lab (RMS), The Homebrew Computer Club (Woz, Captain Crunch), Germany’s Chaos Computer Club, etc.

Trump can’t stop it. The Iranians control the strait; only they decide when we’re done. Nothing Trump can do, even surrendering and withdrawing completely from the entire middle east, can force them to let ships through if they don’t want to.
