@opensourceopenmind @Jqri @organicmaps I dont think it's one tbh. People probably disable certain anti features by choice and the complain that they can't find a app including them if I had to guess. I mean, maybe the Organic Maps people will provide details on how this is a bug (F-Droid has a bunch of those so I wouldn't be surprised) but so far I don't see it.

@fizzo @pojntfx I wouldn't count on their promise of federation tho! As long as they don't give any info on the extend of planned federation or at least any hint towards the protocol they will use I consider it cheap marketing bs tbh

@pojntfx If Matrix ever manages to do moderation tools even remotely decent that is. Well, if they could shut their mouth about great projects like Tor that would be nice too!

@espidev@fosstodon.org I love the idea of bigscreen for years but it needs a ton of work and Kirigami apps have to be more easily adaptable to big screens and remotes. I am extremely glad it's no longer half dead and very thankful for your work tho! :)

@espidev@fosstodon.org You obviously don't have to try it but just out of curiosity and in case you find time to test or already did. How well does SmartTube Next work through Waydroid and can the StremIO desktop interface be controlled over a remote or can we run the TV one through Waydroid too? These are my two main TV apps next to Kodi which certainly works and if they are covered I could theoretically get a minicomputer instead of a new TV stick and use PostmarketOS on it.

@schmiddionmobile@fosstodon.org Dose it use sufisticated feed logic like Newpipe (ongoing sessions to fetch metadata, scheduling that adapt to the upload frequency of a channel and so on) to prevent IP block from fetching many channels? I tried to look into creating a desktop youtube client before and feed logic was one of the main issues, especially because at least from what I could find youtube-dl lacks proper bulk fetching that keeps a single session up rather than opening many
