@dtl@8bitorbust.info my lad gets insulin from the NHS. If he didn't have insulin, he'd be dead. He also gets a pump and a cgm to make this shit less shit / Victorian. I'd happily pay more tax for stuff like this. Its not perfect but its brilliant.

Thought I'd change the cassette on my bike. Found that my hub just fell apart. Just so happens that yet again standards have changed and I either buy a new wheelset at a huge price or a new frame just to fit 'new and improved' through axles. I will be doing neither of those things and asking the locals who will definitely have an old set kicking about. This is the cycling chapter of enshitification #bikebollocks

@derwellensittich this should put it into perspective ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goi%C3%A2nia_accident

@eclectech I suppose 'surprisebrows' are everywhere. I think I invented that word. Going to claim it until I get handed a court summons or I get quietly informed that everyone has been using it for years

@eclectech looks excited to see you or has it got some if those weird eyebrows some humans sport?

@riggbeck @Richard_Littler yep

@afoolandhisfuji@c.im ah no, then its not me. I would have been halfway round Derwentwater then

@dj3ei hopefully see you there.

@afoolandhisfuji@c.im I thinks that's my dog running around like a total idiot in the background

@Richard_Littler funnily enough I do live near it and have no idea why its that shape. I can confirm there are no jawa's but plenty of marra's and they can get very cross

@ly2en this is exactly what we need. New stuff that can be used with old stuff.

@dj3ei @G8RKE same here. Really quiet.

@G8RKE @dj3ei I'm out of a 60m antenna at the moment Ryan. Got blown away the other week. Must make a new one

@alrs@lsngl.us can you imagine how frustrating it is having a perfectly good set that are just a few mm too wide? I had to let a really nice carbon road bike because I just couldn't get parts at a reasonable price. We have a really good local network so I'm expecting I'll be inundated with options.
